Posted by… suppressed (3) by the Post Ghost! 👻After the staff meeting Casela left and headed to Fenrir’s maintenance bay. She was seething. Someone had changed his alert program. She walked into the bay and looked around at the NEs. Forget being Betazoid, she was doing this the old fashioned way. It would scare them more. “Fenrir, I need you to shut down for awhile so I can run some maintenance checks on your system.” She saw one of the NEs poke another in the side. “Don’t even think about going anywhere.” She stepped back out and across to one of the lockers and began putting her weapons into it and then she closed and locked it.
She reentered the bay. “Who was on duty in here today?!” her voice lashed out. The NEs looked at each other. “Okay let’s do this, how about I run the security tapes and find out?” She went and pulled the maintenance roster for the day. She had left the iso chip that Manhattan had given her so that Fenrir’s programming could be updated. She looked around for the chip. She found a chip and when she plugged it in and started looking at it, the programming was wrong. Someone had altered the programming. This wasn’t the chip Manhattan had given her. She turned back to the NEs. “One of you want to explain why there is altered programming on this chip for the AARM?” Not one answered. Casela clenched her jaw, her fist clenching. She narrowed her eyes pinning them in place. She pulled up the security footage. “I’ve seen enough.” NE Johnston was the only one who had been working on Fenrir that day
=^=Lt. Synthi-er to Cmdr Rauuhl and M. Cpt Manhattan. I need you both in the AARM maintenance by immediately=^=
Looking up from where he sat Ryder appeared to state at an imaginary speaker, “Immediately do you?” He said out loud to no one but himself before tapping his comm badge and not sounding the least bit pleased. He was beggening to understand why Noa and she didn’t get along. =^=On my way, Lieutenant.=^= he wasn’t sure if he was in the mood for her hot headedness.
She looked over at the 4 NEs. “If I found out you knew about this…” she let the sentence hang in the air, “Get back to work.” She left the bay turned right and into the parts room. “NE Johnston, It’s your luck day. Get back into the AARM maintenance bay, Now!” Casela ushered the now sweating NE Johnston back into the bay. She stood in the doorway leaning against the frame, simply staring him down until Rauuhl and Manhattan arrived.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS/Ticked off KAI9 handler
Entering the Bay, Manhattan was having a rough day. First the Dave, now the AARM… Can I have some peace?! he thought What the hell is up now?. There was no damn relax… and his sleepy annoyed face was the witness of his destroyed and tired soul.
“Alright what?” The Captain snorted “I was going to get some sleep… And you better have a good reason, Lieutenant.” To be honest his uniform made him seem not that sleepy at all… but the secret? He usually slept with his gun belt and the heavy duty pants, putting the jacket somewhere in his quarters. He rarely liked to put a proper PJ and that was also why he had 14 uniforms in his wardrobe. 14!!M. Capt. Erve Manhattan - RCO
Casela looked at the RCO cpt. and rolled her eyes, “I wouldn’t call you down here if it wasn’t.” She glared at NE Johnston. “This R&D fellow over there,” she pointed to where the NE stood across the room in a corner, “tampered with the AARM KAI9.” She passes him a PaDD with the security footage of the room showing Johnston to be the only person who had worked with Fenrir. “So when I summoned Fenrir to the briefing, 2 clicks, 1 to wake, 1 to passively summon, he came in guns blazing.” She hands him another PaDD with an iso chip in it. “This should have been the iso chip you gave me with his new programming. Fenrir was down here for maintenance to get that put in.” A look at the PaDD showed that any press of the hidden control would cause Fenrir to go into aggressive mode, a order to stand down would have him physically pinning the person down and that every time he saw Cpt. Cobb he would shoot whipped cream in his face. “Some of that is deadly and some is not even funny. And I can’t find the original iso-chip”
Lt. Synthi-er Ticked off KAI9 Handler“This is pretty much a copy and paste program with subtle and amateur coding…” he looked perplexed “Yuck. Well anyway, the program should be somewhere on the ship, this is certain. Mr. Johnston! Come here speedy like the light!” He called the NE with a military tone “Tell me, Mr. Johnston,” he looked with a serious and angry face the NE, head to feet “Johnston, you son of a good mother and moron. You know that manumission of RTF and ARU is an act of vandalism and FOR GOD’S SAKE A SECURITY BREACH?! TELL ME, JOHNSTON, IS IT YOUR ARSE THAT TOOK THE DAMN ISOCHIP AND MADE A STUPID, DANGEROUS AND FREAKING ANNOYING CHIP TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL’S ONE TO WAKE ME UP FOR THIS NONSENSE COMEDY?! I swear Johnston, if you ain’t going to tell the truth about it… you will be soon going with Dave.” Some says that sleep deprivation is pretty annoying, pretty much health problematic. For Erve it was also a way to send people to the medbay as soon as they got over the patience line of the poor Captain.
Looking at Casela and then at the NE he waited for a response trying to cool his head and keeping his awareness to some acceptable level I swear I wish sometimes to have my baton with me… “I’m sorry, I- I really exaggerated…” he then apologizedM. Capt. Erve Manhattan - RCO
Johnston moved too slowly for Casela’s liking towards Manhattan. It wasn’t her job to discipline the crew. She wished it was. That was Manhattan and Rauuhl’s jobs. She REALLY wanted to listen to his thoughts, but REALLY didn’t need to do that. UGH she wasn’t cut out for working with a full star ship crew.
Casela raises a single brow and whispers to him, “Don’t applogize. He deserves worse. I locked my weapons up before I went and found him. I’m pissed Cpt. It’s going to take me HOURS to reprogram him, and if I can’t then I have to wipe him clean and start all over.”
Johnston stood in front of Manhattan and swallowed nervously. “S…Sorry Cpt. I…was bored, and thought it would be funny. I…I didn’t mean to cause a problem, Sir.” He fishes in his pocket for the original ISO chip and hands it to Manhattan. Manhattan scared the crap out of him. He was just tired and bored, what was the big deal? Oh yeah, Manhattan had a legendary temper, that was the big deal.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
Having taken a little longer than what it should have taken him Ryder finally strolled through the door and surveyed the scene I front of him. There had clearly been some discussion he wish he had been present for during the time it took him to navigate his way here because one crewman looked like he had seen Gen for the first time and both the Lieutenant and the Captain seemed positively charged with anger. “I could cut the tension in this room with a spoon. What’s going on?” He asked his arms behind his back, the Trill looking pointedly at Synth-er.
- Commander Ryder, XO
Casela clearly could tell how annoyed he was with her. She mentally shrugged, apparently he was no better than Noa. She had a job, a reponsibility to the ship and crew, and that required reporting to Ryder. If he didn’t like it…well she’d do something else, she wasn’t sure what yet, but she’d figure it out. Refusing to roll her eyes, she passed the padd with the altered program on it. “NE Johnston here, tampered with the program on the KAI-9. Hence the malfunction earlier. He’s not under my department, he’s yours and Manhattans. I don’t believe he meant to do major damage, I’m not even sure he knew what he was doing. Perhaps he needs a better outlet for his creative talents. However, this has put the KAI-9 several hours or days, depending on how bad the program messed him up, out of commission. Since he is a significant tool for the RTF to use, I thought you should know Cmdr.” Casela met his gaze straight on, she was calm and to the point.
Taking the PADD dubiously Ryder looked over the data presented to him, scrolling through as he deciphered the code and listening to her as she presented her case in regards to the NE, though his annoyance had been visible when he entered it was washing away as he saw the issue at hand and how it was more passion for her job and for the Mech which made her seem to hot-headed, she was still hot-headed but Ryder didn’t mind that so much along as it was directed appropriately which she seemed to be trying to do.
Johnston fidgeted, “I’m sorry Cmdr. We don’t have a lot to do down here, we…I thought it would be funny for a prank, and I could fix him later. I didn’t realize I was messing with his command protocols. I guess I didn’t know what I was doing.”
He paused as the NE, Johnston spoke his eyes leveling at his though his head never moved from its position of reading the PADD, his eyebrow raised and then, “I appreciate your apology Mr Johnestone, thought let’s refrain from doing anything like this in the future, shall we? There are for more resourceful ways you can spend your creative mind than childish pranks, see the duty roster leader and see where best suits your abilities. Clearly sitting down here in RTF isn’t feeding your creative mind enough so I want you to begin dual trading. Dismissed Mr Johnston”
He waited for the man to leave before then handing the PaDD back to Casela. “I think Mr. Johnston has learned his lesson, no need to make the situation any more volatile than necessary wouldn’t you agree, Lieutenant.” Ryder caught himself short, he didn’t actually consider her volatile and felt the emotions of Noa affect his decision making and grimaced.
Casela raised a single brow at Ryder. She turned to step out of the bay, pausing as she came up beside him. “I’m not nearly as volatile as Noa would have you believe, Cmdr. Johnston put this ship at risk with his games. The AARM is our first option for encounters with an anomaly and now he needs reprogramming,” her voice was low, whispering. She looked up and held his gaze. “I thought, as XO you were to be informed of anything that could put the ship at risk. Whether on purpose or by accident. If you prefer, Sir, I’ll make sure to leave you be in future.” She stepped fully out of the bay at the point. Manhattan had all the information now. If Ryder took the time to notice, he’d see Casela had NO weapons on her at all.

OOC: Fixing a mistake from copy and paste. Sorry
Ryder turned faced Capt Manhattan, “Thankyou Captain I hope this type of behavior won’t be a common attribute within the RTF or my report won’t be so forgiving.” Casela had just done one of the few things he found utterly unbecoming of a senior officer and nodding to Manhattan left him to chase her down. Ryder had very few gears to be ground, to most he was relaxed and down to Earth but whether it was Noa or just that Casela had a chip on her shoulder he wasn’t sure but walking out as she did rubbed him the wrong way.
“Lieutenant!” He said finally seeing her frame further up the corridor, he hadn’t yet noticed she wasn’t carrying weapons. “Will you for a moment take a moment’s Pause.” He continued to follow her and added, “Don’t let me make that an order.”
