Over the ship’s internal communications announcement system the ship’s XO voice rang true, everyone had already heard about the ship departing soon but until now it had all been word of mouth.

“Leviathan personnel are to commence immediate boarding procedure, I repeat all Leviathan personnel are to commence immediate boarding procedure this is not a drill. Security personnel are to begin stowaway drills, Operations to begin boarding checks at all entrances, All hands secure stations and prepare for the immediate departure of Starbase 237” =^=

Fey was in the middle of an inventory to verify their supplies when the announcement came over. “Already? I didn’t think we were leaving this soon. Everyone, put your experiments away and prepare for departure. Give me a rundown of what we are missing.” One of the other Ensigns nervously faced the doctor, “We’re at 83% of our medical supplies, they didn’t finish the restock and we’re still missing 20% of our medical records.” Doctor Kastil sighed and covered her face with her palm, “Once we are underway, see what can be done to extend the supplies we have or come up with new ones. I’ll assist as soon as I get back from the briefing. It doesn’t make sense to leave this far ahead of schedule.”

Casela walked into sickbay to brief the good doctor. She saw Ryder and groaned inwardly. He’s EVERYWHERE! She guessed that was his job. She walked passed him towards Dr Fey. She slipped her uniform jacket off and he could plainly see she’d removed her fans and replaced them with the non-leathal batons. She missed her fans.
“Dr. Fey, Captain Cobb sent me down to brief you.” She gave her a Padd with the following in formation:
S.S. Einstein its a privatized science vessel and was on it way back here with a Newton-type artifact with unknown properties
=^= ARU Command, this is Ronan Lloyd of the SS Einstein, the artifact is not dormant as originally believed we have taken refuge in the Paulson nebula several of our crew have started to display signs of extreme head trauma and in some cases paralysis. All attempts to block the radiation which seems to affect the hypothalamus have failed and I fear that I too have become infected. The first signs of contamination that appear within the first hour are bloodshot eyes and sometimes bleeding of the ear. Please send assistance.=^=

“Cpt. Cobb wants us to work together. As it seems we’re potentially dealing with internal bleeding, possible narcolepsy and, I think it would be fair to say, extreme paranoia? Draw up a diagnosis and, on the offchance that there might still be survivors, a treatment plan.”
