Casela had managed to meet with all the senior staff and most of the support staff. Except the XO. For some reason she hadn’t bumped into him anywhere. “Computer where is the XO?” She waited for the response and looked at Fenrir. “Let’s go meet the Cmdr, Fenrir” She headed to a turbo lift, got off on the deck the computer indicated and started walking. She saw an officer around a corner in command red and could just make out the triple pips. She picked up her pace, “Cmdr. you are hard to track down. I’m Lt. Synthi-er. Do you have time to walk and talk. I’d like to get your eval done so we can ship out.” Casela just wanted to get this done and get going and Command was hounding her, only 8 hours into arriving to have all the evals done before they left.
Lt. Synthi-er CNSRyder had been moving from place to place ensuring the refit was going as planned, so when the chief counselling officer approached him he almost didn’t notice the dog like mech which he greeted with a friendly nod. “I’m a busy man, Lieutenant atleast I can tick off checking on the AARM unit, what designation did you give him.” He asked curiously unsure if its AI had also been activated or just the basic mobility skills. Ryder though grateful for the advanced piece of equipment one of many the ARU had to offer he knew it was a matter of time until it got broken or lost.
It was at this moment the Commander memory ticked over the counselor looking familiar but he was sure he had never met the woman before. “Have I met you Lieutenant?” She was strikingly beautiful so he was sure to remember her face.
- Cmdr. Ryder Raauhl
“His designation is Fenrir. His AI is fully turned on. He and I have been getting him acclimated to the ship and crew today. He is much improved from the KAI-8 model.” Casela looked at him, “I’m not sure Cmdr. I’m sure I would......” and between picking up his personality and the crew manifest she’d barely looked at, “You’re Raauhl.” She schooled her face and swallowed her distaste. This was not the same Raauhl he looked different. And that Rauuhl had been Noa, not Ryder. If she smelled even the littlest bit of brandy on him she walked off that ship and out an airlock. She would NOT serve on a ship with that…that....that incompetent....interfearing....useless.....GAH! She would not! Her black eyes blazed just a bit, and her jaw clenched. She forced a breathe and glanced at Fenrir. The last thing she needed was his AI picking up on the bio readings of stress and aggression and set off his defensive program.
Feeling an odd sense of bitterness Ryder pushed down the thought with his mind his symbiote seemed to twist in his stomach at the mention of the name and a flash of memories and thoughts come into his head. It was clear from the sudden assault on his brain that the previous host did NOT like the woman he was standing in front of him. One particular moment arose of them arguing rather heatedly Noa calling her words he didn’t even know excited as an insult until now.
“Any relation to Noa Raauhl?” Please no. Let it be coincidence.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS“He was my symbiote, previous host before he died.” He closed his eyes for a moment to banish as many of the thoughts and memories down, it was no easy task Noa really despised this woman. “It seems you two were not very fond of one another, though I can assure you that I am a different person.” As if Noa himself was screaming at him he struggled to fight the sensation to walk away and call her a mind intrusive Phsyco.

Casela just started, tight lipped. She heard the insults, again, as this Ryder’s or Rauuhl’s, or Noa’s memories surfaced and all her own anger surfaced. She stood there, totally at a loss for what to say. The anger building. Noa Raauhl was....Casela made an extreme effort to regain some semblance of control. Her heart pounded too hard and her breath too harsh, the adrenaline kicking in. She reached behind her back for one of her fans, but managed to stop herself. She knew Trill law, she’d examined it at length when she’d encountered Noa. Ryder was, supposedly a different person. Casela was very tempted to find out and take the information she wanted. But the sudden pain in her hand brought her back to reality. She’d cut her hand on the sharpened metal bone of the fan. She she shoved that hand into her pocket. She breathed, once, twice, thrice. But she still heard the word ‘Psycho.’
“I assure you,” she ground out between her teeth, “I am no more psycho than Noa was, and I was a hell of a lot more cautious and compassionate than him. And I certainly did not crawl into a Yridian ale genie bottle and hide when things got hard.” She used all her concentration to not do anything truely stupid. She stood there waiting, but she wasn’t sure what she was waiting for.
