Once back on the ship, Casela led Fenrir through the decks. He had the schematic preloaded but she wanted him to be familiar with the ship and the crew personally. They started on deck 1 and worked their way down. Skipping the CIC for the moment and the counseling deck. He’d get plenty of time in there. “Alright Fenrir, let’s head to engineering. We need to ask them to add charging stations for you in my quarters and the counseling deck.” She also hadn’t met the CE, Lt. William Hampton yet either.

Casela and Fenrir stepped out onto the deck of main engineering. “Go explore, but be warned Engineers are protective of their engines. Don’t get too close. Additionally there are lots of repairs going on, so don’t get zapped.”

Having followed his handler down to engineering he looked around until she began to speak taking his attention away from the pulsating lights which was the warp core. “No being zapped,” He said before trotting of his scanner taking in the room and updating his own schematics for the ship, the latest in his memory core being pre-refit which was something he found a regular occurrence as they navigated the Leviathan

Casela moved over towards the main control area looking for Lt. Hampton. “Lt. Hampton?” she asked looking around.

As she called out, a conduit in the wall near were she was standing ruptured. Exhaust erupted from the chasm that had appeared in the bulkhead. “DAMN IT!” a voice shouted out from across the room. The young lieutenant ran over to a nearby engineering station next to the warp core and slammed his hands against the console, his back facing Synthi-er. He was vigorously smashing commands into it. After a few moments, the exhaust stopped spewing forth. “Trying to make sure the back up coolent systems are functioning, they are not, I have to reduce the pressure.” He said, scrambling away from the console to another one closer to Synthi-er. “How can I help you?” Hampton responded. Not turning to face the Counselor and KAI9 unit, his eyes glued to the current station he was at.

Casela heard the preceeding hiss and groan before the panel blew and ducked/rolled/and came back to her feet out of the way of the blown bulkhead. She looked over at Fenrir to make sure he hadn’t been hit and satisfied she waited for the CE to take care of the venting exhaust.

“I’m Lt. Synthi-er and the KAI9 over there is Fenrir. I bought him down to get the layout of the engineering decks. He needs to be familiar with the ship layout before we leave dry dock. I didn’t want to get in anyone’s way. I also have a couple of requests from engineering, when you have time. Your team looks like they have their hands full trying to get this done.”

“My team doesn’t get here for another hour. I started maintenance and hour early today because nobody wanted to put testing the backup coolant systems on the day’s agenda. So.” He stepped back from the station and finally looked at Synthi-er. “I added it myself.” He stopped for a few moments and looked down at the KAI 9 unit. “I prefer the organic ones honestly.” He said, returning his gaze to the counselor. “If you want to ask a questions, this is your best chance for the rest of the day. I’ll do my best to answer them but I have to keep working, don’t touch anything.” He nodded at her and then turned away to walk to the other side of the warp core and climbed into one of the jeffries tubes.
