Dear all,

The USS Leviathan is currently looking for a new Executive Officer. This position is open to all writers, whether or not you’ve served as XO before.

What are we looking for?
- We’re looking for a committed writer who:
- enjoys writing regularly and collaboratively,
- can help shape story direction alongside others,
- is willing to support both the crew and the CO.

The ship is led by a first-time CO (me!). I’ve been in the role for under two months. While all are welcome to apply, I’d especially value someone with experience whether in leadership, sim-building, or simply being a steady, thoughtful, and collaborative sounding board. If chosen, you’d be helping support both the crew and me, IC and OOC.

OOC expectations
In addition to writing your own character and helping move the story forward, the XO also:
- checks in with quiet players,
- helps welcome newcomers,
- supports department heads,
- works closely with the CO to keep things running smoothly.

How to apply
Please send a short application to me (via PM or Discord) by Monday, September 1, answering:
- Why are you interested in the XO role on the Leviathan?
- What experience or strengths would you bring IC as well as OOC?
- Do you already have a character idea? If so, feel free to include it.
- How would you approach writing in the anomaly-rich self-sim setting of the Leviathan?

Recommendations or the XO exam are optional but welcome. If you have questions, I’m happy to talk more.
