Within the RTF barracks, the entire containment decks, the training areas, and every comm on an RTF agent an alarm went off. Priority 1. It was pretty benign. It was meant to be quiet and not draw attention. The message was from the RCO, Gadi. ‘Priority One. Possible boarding and infiltration. Hostile take over. Secure the artifacts.’ It was enough for every RTF agent to know to lock down the containment decks and hold it without fail.

Ryland was in his quarters polishing his boots when the call came in, instantly he was in those boots, a minute later he and Both Element were in the Armory gathering putting on the armor and securing thier weapons, two minutes after that 2nd element was guarding the upper lift access, first element stacked on the door. Ryland sent signal two which meant the lower decks were now fully locked down and First element was moving silently to secure the entire deck.

Ryland lifted is left arm and checked the deck for intruders, it was currently empty. ” Lockdown Siera 4 Brovo, authorization Lieutenant Junior Grade Thorne Ryland.” The s was for silent force fields and bulkheads locked down all over the deck, there was no way to move around unless your last name was Thorne or Gadi.

5 minutes later two small taps a pause and another tap signaled RTF lock down.

Single vibration returned on Thorne’s own communicator as a acknowledgement. If they were about to be attacked or boarded, containment had to be preserved.

First element staged and erected a baracade at the turbo lift from the rest of the ship.

“Marks, watch the deck for motion or lifesigns,”

“SIR” she replied.

“Eyes up everyone”

Less than a minute later the whole ship went to red alert.

Ryland kneeled down behind the temporary barricade. “Marks” he said .”See if you can get us eyes and ears on the bridge. It would go better if they knew what was going on.

The whole deck blazed red from the alert. Then, gradually, it faded into a hazy purple. A sort of fog formed, rising from the deck with no apparent source.

Movement, shuffling. It wasn’t from the turbolift. Perhaps a researcher taking shelter? The footsteps were too heavy. They drug too much. Scraped too harshly against the deck below.

A screeching growl shattered the still air of the corridor. The source still somewhere in the decks behind them. Its lumbering approach drawing it nearer and nearer.

Something was loose on the containment deck.

Hitting the RTF Channel “Intruder alert, Deck 11” he said searching for what ever it was,. “Stay sharp team, something is coming” he said

“Marks can you get a lock on it?”
