“Customary Exam and Questioning”
“Well, come on in then,” Nyman said, stepping to the side enough to let Dorian pass.
Most Vendorians are not true empaths, just very observant. So as the counselor watched Dorian, his mind was desperately grasping for any trace of emotion to latch on to.
It was like walking into a pitch black room, or a silent forest. There was either truly nothing, or nothing he was aware of. Both possibilities equally unsettling.
Nyman still went through with his usual routine, perhaps as a way to make the situation a bit more palatable. But the reports, especially the noted objection from Dr.Miike, were still on his mind. This cyberpsychosis was going to require some… advanced care techniques.
“Take a seat anywhere you like.” he said, gesturing to a collection of chairs and an adjacent sofa overrun by pillows. He walked over to the replicator near the back of the room, closer to the wall of pottery and ceramics that was on display. With another smile, no more or less genuine than his first, he offered,
“Can I get you something?”
