=^=Cargo shuttle Clydesdale to flight control, approaching for landing.=^==^=Flight control to Clydesdale, you are cleared to berth on pads 1 and 3.=^=
=^=Pads 1 and 3 confirmed, landing now.=^=
The shuttle that entered the shuttle bay was oversized and designed for carrying small loads of cargo long distances. The pilot landed skillfully.
=^=Cargo shuttle Clydesdale touchdown and shutdown.=^=
The rear cargo door opened and a large metallic figure stepped off carrying one of the large crates.
- Dorian, CE/CA
OOC: We can disregard this if it would make more sense to find Dorian on the planet if you’d like to bring him in via the sim.
- Jud
OOC: Not sure about the direction of the current Sim so I will respond.

Keetsal started by timidly poking her head around the line of security officers sent to meet the new Chief Engineer. She wasn’t overly familiar with his file, or what the whole situation was about. When asked about it Counselor Nyman refused to give a direct answer, as usual. All she knew is that, according to him, it was a priority to have his onboarding appointment scheduled as soon as possible. Hence, she was ready to do so as soon as he boarded.
Seeing the large metal frame, she stifled a gasp. But, quickly composing herself, she stepped forward to be in line with the security officers.
“Uhm, Lieutenant Dorian, sir?”
Cadet Oggar, Couseling Resident
The large armored metal figure turned it’s head and regarded her, small antennae around the eyes pointed at her for a moment before continuing to slowly and randomly wave.
“Greetings counselor.” came the mechanical voice as he set the crate down with a thunk she could feel in the deck plating, “How may I be of assistance?”.
Dorian had been through this before and figured this would be his onboarding interrogation from the counseling branch of the ship but, there were always room for surprises. He did note the elevation in respiration, heartbeat, and the flush of her skin. If he hadn’t have been unloading the shuttle he would have been in a more human appearance.
- Dorian, CE/CA
The young Bolian officer stood up straight despite her display of nervousness.
“I am here on behalf of the counseling department. I was asked to meet you here because…”
She paused, brushing a loose strand of white hair from her face as she looked around. Announcing that the new Chief Engineer has phycological issues in front of all these officers was not just a breach in confidentiality, it was also unkind. So she decided to be less specific,
“ … to be sure you had a chance to schedule your onboarding phycological exam. The phycological health of all our crew members is very important, after all.”
She smiled in a friendly way, despite still being very much intimidated.
Cadet Oggar, Couseling Resident
There was no way to tell what, if any, emotions Dorian was feeling.
“You can be plain counselor, My emotions are very subdued and I do not take offense or anger easily. You, as many others have been, are worried about cyber-zombie syndrome and cyberpsychosis. You may not have heard of those conditions yet but I assure you that you are safe with me. I haven’t killed anyone out of hand in quite a while.”
Dorian’s delivery was so dry and straight one couldn’t tell if he was joking or serious.
- Dorian, CE/CA
“Okay then, that’s… that’s good.” she said, trying to keep a positive spin on things. Though she did notice a few officers take a step forward to be more in between the Cadet and Dorian.
“I’m sure one of our senior counselors has already been briefed on your existing conditions. You don’t have to share more information with me than you want to. I’m just here to step up the appointment. If you are available now, or within the next… six to ten hours or so, that would preferred.”
Cadet Oggar, Couseling Resident
“Give me a moment.” Dorian said holding up a finger.
The surface of the massive metal body began to ripple, It took seconds but the transformation was remarkable as he appeared to slim down and take on an organic human appearance. His height didn’t change but Dorian now appeared to be a very athletically built human in the Star Fleet standard Engineering uniform. His” skin” was lightly tanned and he had black hair and blue eyes complimenting his hawkish face.
Dorian looked at Keestal.
“Lead on counsellor.”
- Dorian
Keestal watched the transforming with a sense of awe. It hadn’t even occurred to her that such a transformation was possible, much less that he would do so right there in front of her.
She shook her head slightly and blinked, trying not to be thrown off by the new way he was presenting himself.
“Right now?” she asked to clarify, “If you would rather finish unloading or even getting your quarters ready I’m sure the Chief Counselor wouldn’t mind. I could even maybe stick around to help, if you want.”
A security officer snickered at her offer to help, which she tried to ignore. Yes, she was aware the Dorian didn’t seem to need her help, but she was just trying to be nice.
Cadet Oggar, Couseling Resident
Dorian shrugged noncommittally.
“Your offer to help is admirable, I think I have something with wheels on it you could push or you could grab a grav sled and I could put something on it for you. Unless your a mega strength race in which there’s 8 more large crates to pull out.” Dorian looked around briefly, “I don’t see any power loaders after all.”
His speech was very flat, almost Vulcan in inflection but there seemed to be incomplete traces of emotion to some of the words.
- Dorian, CE/CA
Keestal stepped aboard the shuttle and looked around. She found one slightly smaller crate with a handle and wheels. She had to use her foot as a lever and pull forward with both hands, until it tilted onto its wheels. With significant effort she managed to pull it forward, and just as she was getting enough inertia her commbadge chipped.
=^= Cadet Oggar=^= she answered.
The Chief Counselor’s voice came through =^= What’s the status? Did you make contact with Kelmain? =^=
=^= Yes sir,=^= she replied, slightly out of breath from trying to get the crate going again,
=^= I’m right here with him. I thought it would be a good idea to let him get settled first. =^=
=^= Did you schedule the appointment? =^= Nyman asked.
=^= We should be heading over right after, sir. =^=
Cadet Oggar, Couseling Resident
=^= I’ll keep my calendar clear, then. Just remember to… =^= he paused, =^= Just, stay focused, okay? Don’t get carried away. =^=
He ended the transmission and let out a sigh. This new Chief Engineer put him on edge. He was prepared to be civil for the moment. If something were to happen to Keestal, though, he might not be able to remain so professional.
Lt. Nyman, Chief Counselor
Dorian decompressed into full frame and grabbed another crate by built in handles and hefted the load. His foot steps echoed and vibrated through the deck plates under the load. He walked the crate out looking back at Oggar.
“Be careful not to injure yourself.” he cautioned.
It only took two more trips before the cargo shuttle was unloaded and ready to depart. Dorian recompressed back into his more human guise.
“That’s that, your assistance was appreciated, now, lead the way.” Dorian said with a smile.
The smile was flat and emotionless lending it an eerie quality.
- Dorian, CE/CA
“Right…” Keestal responded, catching her breath, “Yes, sir, right this way…”
Keestal led Dorian down the corridor and into the turbolift. The doors closed but she paused before calling a deck number,
“Would you like to see your quarters before we stop by counseling? It’s on the way… Everything is on the way to the counseling department, if you know what I mean. We’re kind of tucked way back there.”
The cadet let out a little laugh punctuated by a snort she didn’t seem too ashamed of.
Cadet Oggar, Couseling Resident
Dorian regarded Keestal.
“That’s not necessary. I’ve already loaded the deck plan into my storage memory. A courtesy escort directly to the counseling office will be fine thank you.” he said casually following as she lead the way.
As cold and emotionless as he appeared, it could be easy to forget that there was a human brain driving it.
- Dorian, CE/CA
“Right, understood sir.” she said, putting on a more serious tone in response to his seeming lack of emotion. Her attempts at engagement seemed to be somewhat unsuccessful. But she kept in mind too that might just be part of his condition.
Without saying much more, she brought him up to the Chief Counselor’s office and rang the chime.
