While stuff was going on with in his department he had then started to get a little hungry. He had then had decided to go to the mess hall and gotten something to eat. He had then gotten up to a replicator and requested for “One Pok tar.” The computer had then finally made the food for him and then he grabbed it from the replicator. He then sat down and started eating but then he realized he also forgot coffee. He went back to the replicator and said, “One coffee”. The replicator made his coffee and then went back to his seat and started to eat his Pok tar. He had then stayed there and didn’t do anything else but stared outside and kept eating and drinking his coffee.Chief Operations Officer

USS LeviathanKala arrived at the mess hall at exactly noon, dressed in casual yet slightly dressed-up attire—a modest navy-blue blouse paired with black slacks. It was a step above her usual off-duty attire, but not so much that it would seem like she was trying too hard. She felt comfortable and confident, which was exactly how she wanted to feel for this lunch with Chase.
As she entered, her eyes quickly scanned the room, spotting him by the window, sipping his coffee and seemingly lost in thought. With a smile tugging at her lips, Kala made her way over to him, her footsteps light but purposeful.
“Pok tar and coffee?” she teased gently as she approached, her voice warm. “Interesting combination.”

USS LeviathanHe looked up at her and smiled. He then noticed what Kala was wearing and realized how beautiful she looked. “Heh. Yeah. But you know it’s nothing to fancy for me. The Pak tar is just a snack. However,” he paused for a minute and then spoke again. “I’ve gotten a better meal for us already prepared. How would you like as you humans would say steak for lunch. With mashed potatoes and rice. I presume standard human food.” He said with a curious look.
While he sat there he then realized something. Something to be a gentleman. He had then stood up and pulled Kala’s chair out awaiting for her to sit. He knows that if he shows the gentleman side that no one would ever have seen. Except her. “Sorry if I’m being to formal with lunch it’s completely unusual for someone like myself to do so.” He said with a smile as he pushed her in like a good gentleman would do.

USS LeviathanKala raised an eyebrow, pleasantly surprised by the effort Chase had gone to. “Steak, mashed potatoes, and rice, huh?” she said with a smile, settling into the chair he’d pulled out for her. “You sure know how to make a lunch feel special.”
As Chase gently pushed her chair in, she glanced up at him with an appreciative look. “No need to apologize. It’s actually… kind of nice,” she added, her voice soft but sincere. “Not many people take the time to be this thoughtful.”
She smoothed out her blouse as she sat, feeling the subtle weight of the moment. It wasn’t overly formal, but there was something more to this than just a casual meal between colleagues. She could sense that he was genuinely interested in making this time with her meaningful, and that made her feel more at ease.
“Honestly,” Kala continued, glancing at him with a playful glint in her eye, “I was expecting something more casual, but I won’t complain. I guess you’ve raised the bar for our future lunches.”
She leaned back slightly, resting her hands on the table. “So, Chase, what’s the story behind this ‘gentleman’ side of you? I feel like there’s more to it than just trying to impress a fellow officer.”

USS Leviathan“Well after the fact that my parents of course on Vulcan had no emotions. I’m the only one in my family that does have emotions. I maybe a Vulcan myself. But a emotional one. Someone who feels. Someone who is a gentleman someone who loves. Someone who cares. Ever since I left Vulcan and went to the academy I was always like that with my ex’s back in the day. I’ve always set up lunch dates. I’ve been been able to impress them. However, like I said in the corridor, neither of them last all that long. So I did appreciate all the time I did have with them and well you know. They broke it off. Because they thought ‘dating a emotional vulcan’ isn’t what they had in mind. So Starfleet had reached out to me. Told me that there is a Chief of Operations position on board, I took it and they did their own thing. Now the gentleman side of me just appears when I meet someone as beautiful as you are. Just the feeling of you being here today makes it feel more special. Yes. Mashed potatoes, steak and rice is just the beginning of it. But your the one who has completed it with yourself being here. Hence the reason why I got up pulled your chair out and pushed you in gently. I care about you. I feel connected with you. You know what I mean. It’s just it continues on and on from there and honestly, you’ve just been making me happy since the time on the corridor. You are special. The most special person in this room that can actually make a Vulcan such as myself smile so much and be as much of gentleman as I am.” He said with a smile and was explaining the whole entire ‘gentleman’ thing.

USS LeviathanKala listened intently as Chase shared his story, her expression softening with understanding as he opened up about his emotional journey. It wasn’t often that someone was so candid about themselves, especially a Vulcan who had embraced his emotions. She could sense how much his past relationships had shaped him, and it was clear that his ‘gentleman’ side wasn’t just an act—it was part of who he truly was.
When he finished, she smiled warmly, touched by his honesty and vulnerability. “That’s… a lot to take in,” she admitted, her voice gentle. “But I mean that in a good way.” She leaned forward slightly, her eyes meeting his with genuine appreciation. “I’m really glad you shared all of that with me, Chase. It sounds like you’ve had your fair share of ups and downs, and yet here you are, still being open and thoughtful.”
She paused, taking a moment to let the sincerity of the conversation settle between them. “I won’t lie, you’ve set the bar pretty high for future lunches,” she added with a playful grin, trying to lighten the mood just a little. “But seriously, I think it’s amazing that you haven’t let past experiences make you cynical. It takes a lot of strength to keep caring like you do, especially when things haven’t always worked out.”
Kala’s expression softened again as she continued, “I don’t know if I deserve all those kind words, but I appreciate them. And for what it’s worth, I’ve enjoyed spending time with you too. You make it easy to feel comfortable, and that’s not something that happens with everyone.”
She sat back, her smile lingering as she looked at him. “So, here’s to a nice lunch and… seeing where this connection goes. No pressure, just… enjoying the moment.”l

USS LeviathanChase look back at her with a romantic smile towards her. “Kala, you do deserve every single word I’ve said to you. Besides, I’ve become a complete romantic. Nevertheless I do care. And yes I do have a high for lunches. But it’s always my side of things. And besides. You’re the most amazing person ever. No matter what someone tells you that you aren’t. But in reality you are. Someone like you shouldn’t go through what you’ve been through and I want to change that honestly.” He said it with romantic feelings towards her.

USS LeviathanKala felt a warmth spread through her as Chase spoke, his sincerity cutting through the usual formalities that surrounded Starfleet life. She hadn’t expected this meal to turn into something so meaningful, but she couldn’t deny the genuine connection that had started to form between them.
As they neared the end of their meal, the conversation had flowed easily, touching on both light-hearted topics and deeper, more personal reflections. The steak and mashed potatoes had long since been cleared, but the atmosphere remained intimate. Kala glanced out the window, then back at Chase with a soft smile. “I think you’re underselling yourself, Chase. You don’t need to change anything for me—or anyone, really. Just… be yourself. That’s enough.” She reached for her glass, raising it slightly in a small toast. “To enjoying the moment, no pressure.”

USS Leviathan“To enjoy the moment.” As he did the same thing. ” I don’t think I have ever had the best time in my life with someone so cute and adorable. Honestly, this has been the first time in a very long time in my life that I’ve ever done something like this. And I know I don’t need to change that’s not what I’m trying to do. I’m trying to do something different with myself. Get to know someone take them out on a nice romantic dinner date. The works.” He said smiling as he was saying it so romantically.
