Loughty and Saoir were directed to the medical suite. It would be a while before Nyman returned from helping Kerax in the main medical bay. There was still no direct mention of any promise to reunite them with their remaining crew members. The room was designed to be a private treatment area for officers, and to accommodate long–term recovery. It was rather comfortable, with a warmer color palette brought out more by the calm, steady lighting. Blankets, changes of clothes, and even a few snacks and sweets remained out and accessible. It seemed like a time capsule of how the ship must have been before.

Todd came in, not even attempting to shift back into a human form before unceremoniously tossing himself onto one of the beds in exhaustion.
“I’m sorry, Commander,” he said, with a heavy sigh, “About my appearance, I mean. There are certain procedures that are easier to do in this form. That, and it could be considered rude to remain… you know. She is recovering well, though.”

Oliver watched as Todd, in his non-human form, settled onto the bed. The weariness etched in his features, even through the strange appearance, mirrored Oliver’s own sense of exhaustion. This room, with its old comforts and hints of a different era, made him feel as though he were in another world—a preserved relic amidst the chaos outside.
He glanced around the space, taking in the details, a fleeting reminder of the stability he’d once taken for granted on the Leviathan. The blankets neatly folded, the colors warmer than most medical facilities, and the small comforts lying around felt almost surreal. He wondered briefly how long it had been since this room had last been used for rest rather than recovery. Even Todd’s presence—familiar yet odd in his current form—felt oddly grounding.
“Don’t worry about the appearance,” he said softly, giving a tired smile. “Right now, I’ll take what I can get, and I’m just grateful for the updates.” He hesitated, debating whether to press for information about the rest of the crew, but chose to let it lie for the moment. They were in a strange, precarious position, and pressing too hard, he knew, could push them over an unseen edge.
Looking back at Todd, he asked, “So, she’s stable? I know I’m not the one to say this, but it sounds like you’ve done a lot for her already. Thank you.”

Todd let out quick series of clicks, registering as a laugh through the translator.
“Oh, it was nothing, really. Anything to help.”
Saoir stepped into the medical suite, the adrenaline from his recent fight still running through his veins. He felt every bruise, every scrape, the aches settling in now that the tension was slipping away. His muscles were sore, and the bruises beneath his uniform hinted at the toll of the skirmish, yet he wore his victory like a shield, proud and unyielding, very much unlike a Kelpien.
He took in the room, assessing the scene before him. The warm lights cast soft shadows over every surface, from the piles of blankets to the table with small luxuries scattered across it, snacks and sweets as if they had never left the mess hall.
He spotted Todd sprawled across one of the beds, and a bit further off, Commander Loughty sat, looking worn but collected. “Todd, Commander… I didn’t know if I’d see either of you again.” His voice transitioned from the gruff edge of combat giving way to sincerity.
He looked between them, a sense of gratitude settling over him. After the fight and the uncertainty, finding them both here felt like more than he’d dared hope for.Ensign Saoir

Todd sat more upright, curling his arms beneath him. Tilting his head slightly as he focused in on his crewmate,
“You’re injured,” he said, the concern clear in his voice. He stood up, and began rummaging around in different drawers and cabinets around the room.
“I’m sorry that I didn’t stay,” he apologized, seemingly to both of them at once. “I should have, you shouldn’t be that ones who have to… deal with all this mess. And I haven’t been the most helpful, either.”
Finally, he found what he was looking for in the drawers. He practically glided across the room toward the Ensign. He handed a small device to Saoir, a Romulan version of a dermal regenerator. In another arm he held out a hypospray,
“This one should help you with any pain or tension.”
