After an… interesting first introduction to her newest Security Officer, Ashara Mavix made her way back to her office and sat for a few moments, scanning slowly through Marcus Lavent’s personnel file. He seemed confident when she first met him, so she was keen to draw more of his skill out of him as their career together aboard the Leviathan progressed. Her team was building, it wouldn’t be long before she found herself having to run formation drills.

She tapped her combadge, “Mavix to Lavent, would you please join me in my office?”

-Lieutenant Ashara Mavix: Chief of Security-

=/\= “Aye Sir, on my way” =/\= he responded as the continued finished putting his weapons aways security in easy access lockers. He tapped the armory officer on duty “Thanks for leting me use the space and talk your ear off” he said as he left the room.

A min later Marcus chimed the door to the Chiefs officer, the buzer giving its multi tone chirp.

“Come on in Marcus,” a voice said from behind the door. Ash Mavix stood looking over the files of her latest Security officers. Marcus would notice that his own file was off to the side slightly, as if she had been viewing it a few moments earlier.

“Take a seat kid, let’s talk.”

-Lieutenant Ashara Mavix: Chief of Security-

Marcus entered the room and moved to the seat in front of the desk. “Thank you Sir,” he said as he sat down, his eyes glanced at his file sitting to the side of the desk. “I’m an open book Sir what would you like to discuss? ” he asked looking over at his new co with a soft genuine smile.

“First, Ah need you to tell me if any of the other officers on my team are causing you difficulties. Ah want y’all to be a team, not fightin like a bunch a’ cats and dogs!” Ash was curious to see if Lavent would tell her anything more about when she first met him several hours earlier.

Marcus thought about the question some before he responded. It’s not like anyone had really directed any issues with him. The odd exchange in earlier was certainly uncomfortable, but it was nothing he was concerned about. “Everyone has been quite welcoming since I came aboard.” he notes. “You are aware of the incident that you walked in on, ” he noted. “It was not really clear to me what they were arguing about,” he paused a moment. “Clearly it had more to do with history between them and nothing to do really with me or my orientation.” he paused again. “I kinda tuned them out to be honest sir” he noted.

“Sumthin’ Ah’ll have to investigate at a later date Ah guess,” Mavix said thoughtfully, “Anyhow, tell me, why the Leviathan?”

Marcus was not so sure he wanted to be fully honest with the question, however it was clear she would be able to figure out he was holding something back. I have to trust the team he thought to himself.
“To be honest I thought if I could get assigned to a ship that dealt with higher security clearance type missions, it might eventually lead me to a place in my career where I could get read into my parents disappearance.” he noted with a slight shrug, ” A bit childish I guess but I wanted to do something with my career that would drive me to excellence.”

“Now Ah know there’s a story there,” Ash arched an eyebrow, “What do you know?”

Marcus looked puzzled, “Nothing really one minute they were planning on being home in a few weeks, the next they were declared missing. ” he noted. “They were dealing with some post war spin down” he noted. “Anything else is so redacted that I still have black spots on my yes from reading it.” he chuckled a little.

Marcus shifted a little , it was not something he liked to talk about too much, “I don’t know, selfish I guess but I’m hoping to someday get the clearance I need to get some answers, and still serve Starfleet however I can.”
