[Snip]Saoir maintained his composure, his eyes darting briefly towards the Sub-Commander and the Lieutenant. He took a deep breath, then continued down the corridor. His strategizing his next steps while maintaining the pretense of his inspection mission.
He reached a hub of activity with various conduits and control panels. Saoir accessed the nearest terminal, inputting a series of commands to simulate a diagnostic check. His fingers moved quickly as his thoughts focused on finding any clue about Munroe’s whereabouts.
Satisfied that his actions were convincing enough, Saoir scanned the area. The constant buzzing of the ship’s systems were drowning any sounds he hoped to pick up, and he tuned his senses to pick up any irregularities or hidden communications. He knew he needed to stay sharp, as any sign of hesitation or distraction could raise suspicion.Ensign Saoir
(Transporter Chief/Security)Besides the one officer, who despite Marvex’ best efforts still seemed intent on keeping an eye on him, none of the others around seemed to pay the Ensign much attention. The path was clear to the room where they had both seen Monroe enter. There was little clue from the outside what was going on behind that door. Conversely, there was little stopping at this point from him going in and entering himself.

Saoir seized the opportunity and approached the door, the door slid open with a soft hiss, and he slipped inside, allowing it to close quietly behind him.

(Transporter Chief/Security)The room contained mostly racks of isolinear chips, surrounding a central device that appeared to be similar to an older computer core. It gave the impression this class of ship’s computer systems were more old-fashioned than contemporary Federation ships. A couple more officers were busy with tasks, realigning the isoleanear chips. Monroe seemed to be the only one to turn his head away from his work and looked at the Ensign.
He looked around first before standing up and stepping forward, looking puzzled,
“Saior? Is that really you?”
Again, he looked around nervously at the others, but everyone was busy with their work,
“I thought you were supposed to be with Commander Loughty, what happened?” he asked, barely above a whisper.
“Have you seen anyone else? Micheals, or Nyman?”

“Monroe,” Saoir whispered back, stepping closer to him, happy he recognized him. “I was with Loughty, but then he was taken away. I convinced them to allow me to help them make repairs and I ended up here. I haven’t seen Micheals but Nyman....” his voice trailed off.
He kept his voice low, his eyes darting around the room”Monroe, what’s going on here?” he asked, his tone urgent.Ensign Saoir
(Transporter Chief/Security)He shrugged,
“I don’t know much… apparently someone sabotaged the ship, there was an attempted mutiny, the crew was spilt and half of them took the escape pods out. After all that the ship ended up in pretty bad shape.”
Monroe folded his arms, his face showing a moment of contemplation,
“It just seemed like they really needed the extra help. And I thought that maybe if I’d cooperate they would go easier on all of us. I know the counselor didn’t like that idea too much, but I have no idea why. They took us all to their medical bay first, and then split us up. Took him to a different room. Last I heard was a rumor that he got in a fight with that Lieutenant Sen’ton.”

Bump
Saoir was surprised at how well the Romulans had treated them. All this time, he had thought of them as the enemy, a perception drilled into him by years of training and countless encounters that painted the Romulans in a hostile light. But now, as he stood in the dimly lit room, he realized that they hadn’t been mistreated, at least not in the way he’d expected.
Why were they being treated so well? What was the Romulans’ endgame? He couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to this than met the eye, but for now, he had to acknowledge the unexpected reality, the Romulans were not the enemies he had imagined.
He nodded slowly, taking in Monroe’s words about cooperating in the hopes of leniency. Saoir understood the logic behind it
“We need to find a way to regroup. Get the team back together.” Saoir said,
His gaze locked onto Monroe’s, “Are you with me?” he asked.Ensign Saoir
(Transporter Chief/Security)Monroe glanced down at the floor, a nervous look crossing his face,
“I’m not sure about that, Saior. They’ve been hospitable enough for now. But we have no idea how they’ll react if we suddenly step out of line.”
He was obviously bothered by something. Something he wasn’t sharing. But instead chose to change the subject,
“We should probably just get back to work. They still need my help re-synching the navigation computer to the bridge controls. Otherwise, we’re all stuck out here.”

Saoir squinted eyes at Munroe, catching the unease in his expression. Something wasn’t right. Saoir decided to press him. He stepped closer and said in low but insistent tone, “You’re holding something back. What is it?”
Ensign Saoir
(Transporter Chief/Security)
“Holding back? What d’you mean?” Monroe asked. Then a pause. He made a noticeable effort to loosen up a little. After a deep sigh, he continued,
“This hasn’t been exactly a normal day, alright? I’m admittedly a little… thrown off you could say. Right now, I really just want to get off this ship.”
