Marcus stood up as the Leviathan gave clearance for him to transport over. “Gunny, thanks for your patience during my field time. I learned a lot from you,” he said to her.

“Well, someone had to,” Lauren responded, “but as far as fleet goes, you did fine. We’ll make a Marine out of you someday,” she said, jabbing his side.

He placed his hand on her shoulder, “Stay safe,” he said with a small smile. They had spent a lot of time together in various environments, learning stealth, reconnaissance, close quarters, and other small unit operations. Being embedded with a tactical unit for fifteen weeks had been highly educational for him.

“Leviathan, one to beam over,” he said as he gave her shoulder a pat and picked up his gear.

Marcus allowed his eyes to adjust to the change in light as he materialized in the transporter room of his new assignment. He was admittedly surprised at being assigned to a clandestine unit for his first posting, which brought thoughts of his parents to mind.

He must have been an odd sight to the crewman managing the transporter, his muscles straining against the weight of the two cases he was carrying, and the large green sea bag strapped to his back. “Permission to come aboard,” he called out, standing as straight as he could despite the added weight.

“Permission granted,” the crewman said, not betraying any opinion about Marcus’s appearance. “You’ll need to check your weapons into the armory; security will escort you.”

Marcus smiled, stepping down from the platform. ‘Here we go,’ he thought. “Thank you,” he replied and followed the security officer to the armory. As they wound through the halls of the ship, the security officer pointed out various locations, but Marcus’s mind was elsewhere, focused more on what he needed to do and eager to get to work.

Upon entering the armory, Marcus placed his modified Type 3 Phaser rifle and ER-116 Projectile rifle into lockers.

Marcus then made his way to the security chief’s office. He gave polite nods as he moved through the ship, and upon arriving at the office, he pulled the sea bag off his back, holding it in his left hand as he knocked on the door.

OOC: Just remember to sign off your posts with your character name dude! But other than that, perfect start!
OOC: Thank you, and corrected.

“Come,” a voice called from the other side of the door. As Lavent stood in the doorway, he was greeted by the sight of a mid-20s Trill woman with auburn hair tied tightly into a top knot. She smiled as she beheld the sight of her newest officer, “Howdy, you must be Marcus Lavent, come on in. Can I get you anything?”

-Lieutenant Ashara Mavix: Chief of Security-

Marcus was taken back a little at the informal nature of the statement, he had been used to marine protocols and disciplines. “I am He, Ensign Marcus Lavent, reporting for duty” he noted as he entered and came to attention. He looked over the chief to try and gauge if it was a test or if his new boss ran a relaxed outfit. He chose to follow suit a little but would remain at attention until released. “I would not mind a cup of coffee if that would be ok sir?” he said setting his bag down next to the chair.

“Lieutenant or Ash is fine Ensign, ye don’t have to be nervous, Ah only run a tight ship when Ah need to.” Ash grinned and rose, her aubern top knot bouncing slightly as she stood with some speed, crossing over to the replicator, “How do ye take yer coffee?”

-Lieutenant Ashara Mavix: Chief of Security-

Marcus relaxed a little, things had been so disciplined for him he during his last assignment, the relaxed environment was making him a little uneasy. He would get used to it, he noted the Lieutenants accent and parsed through it in his mind.

“Black as mud si…Lieutenant ” he said correcting himself before he continued. “Relaxed will be a nice change of pace I’ve been embedded with marines the past fifteen weeks.” he finished taking in the office to see if he could gather information about who his new boss was.

Ash chuckled, “Marine life get a bit too much for ye Ensign?” She asked, sliding over the plastic mug of coffee.

-Lieutenant Ashara Mavix: Chief of Security-

Marcus thought about that, he certainly missed the team but it was a very different experience from the academy. He finally responded after taking a long sip of his coffee. “I don’t know, on one hand I’m in the best shape of my life, it’s defiantly a very high paced, hurry up and wait kind of life style.” he said smiling over his cup.

“I miss the team, they were amazing. I learned a lot to about close quarters combat and recon type operations, their ability to operate as a team is impressive” he said taking another long sip off his cup.

OOC: Hi Ryan, Kieron will be taking a short LOA. I will continue this sim with you.

IC: Saoir tapped the access panel beside the door and watched it slide open with a soft whoosh. His dark eyes scanned the room, quickly assessing the two figures inside. Ensign Marcus Lavent holding a steaming mug of coffee. Across from him, Lieutenant Mavix, was at her desk. Saoir noted the seemingly relaxed posture of both individuals and the informal tone of their conversation.
Stepping into the room, Saoir nodded a greeting to Ashara and then turned his attention to the new ensign. “Ensign Lavent, I’m Ensign Saoir,” he said, his voice was calm but had some authority in it. “I’ve been assigned to take you through the initial protocol procedures for your integration into the security team.”

Marcus smiled and stood to his feet his tall frame gliding out of the chair as if he had been lifted out of the chair by some unseen force, “Ensign Saior, Pleasure to meet you!” he said extending his hand.

Saoir accepted the handshake, “Likewise Ensign Lavent,” Saoir replied, his eyes briefly meeting Lavent’s before shifting to Lieutenant Mavix, who gave a nod of acknowledgment.
“Let’s get started,” Saoir continued, indicating with a tilt of his head for Lavent to follow. He lead Lavent out of the room and into the corridor. As they walked, Saoir began outlining the initial steps of Lavent’s integration. “First things first,” he said, glancing sideways at the new ensign. “We’ll go through the basics of security protocols, then move on to transporter operations. Your primary duty stations will be here on Deck 6 and in the CIC at the tactical station when we are on a mission.”
Marcus noted the duty station on his personal notes, he kept a sort of short hand that only he knew to keep track of inportant information and while the information would certianly be listed on his duty assignments he thought it best to track everything for now.

Saoir who always exuded a serious presence, turned to Lavent and said, “Always remember, precision and awareness are paramount in our duties. The smallest oversight can have significant consequences. Out here,” Saoir continued, “we rely on each other. The team’s only as strong as its weakest link. Your diligence and attention to detail will be your greatest assets.”

“Agreed. Situational Awareness is paramount in our line of work, lives can be lost otherwise.” he noted in agreement.
As they approached the CIC, Saoir said, “Welcome to the heart of our operations,” he stepped aside to allow Lavent a clear view. “This is where we coordinate all security activities and monitor ship-wide status.”

CIC was an incredible site you could see every aspect of the ship in here. “Very Impressive” he noted stepping into the room a little to get a better look.

Marcus smiled at Saoir, “Thank you, Ensign I can’t wait to cut my teeth so to speak” What does our training schedule look like?”

Saoir observed Marcus’s enthusiasm with a faint nod, appreciating the new ensign’s eagerness to learn and contribute. “We’ll begin with a comprehensive review of security protocols this afternoon,” Saoir replied, his tone steady. “Tomorrow morning, we’ll dive into tactical operations. It’s essential to get a solid foundation before moving forward.”
He gestured towards the tactical station. “You’ll familiarize yourself with our systems, procedures, and of course the ship’s layout.” Saoir paused briefly. “I will also acclimate you to the security protocols of transporter operation as you may have to take on this task from time to time. I also recommend....” However before he could finish his sentence, Ensign Jackson approached.

Ensign Jackson strode purposefully towards Saoir and Lavent with a mischievous smile, noting the slight tightening of Saoir’s jaw and the narrowing of his eyes as he approached. He had always sensed tension between them, a lingering animosity that neither had quite managed to shake off. In any case, he didn’t care.
“Ensign Saoir,” Jackson said evenly, nodding in acknowledgement. Then he looked at Ensign Lavent, “Hi there, I am Jackson. Welcome to the Levi, hopefully this one here is not boring you beyond reason.” He said as he cut his eyes as Saoir
