It was clear he wasn’t giving her much choice in the matter. Iphigenia knew she couldn’t afford to push back. She headed for the door, nodding slightly as she managed a weak smile. “Yes, of course,” she replied, her voice still shaky. “ “I’ll head to Sickbay right away.” She forced herself to meet his gaze, though she couldn’t shake the feeling that he saw right through her. Before she left, she said, “It’s probably best Commander Holmes gets checked out as well. She was injured during the incident.”

Adam nodded “Of course, I’d not ask her to wander by herself” He didn’t look at Holmes “If you don’t mind I’d like to escort you, I’ll be kept in the loop until you’re deemed fit for duty and I’d like you to be kept informed.”

“I would appreciate the company, the Captain doesn’t make for good company when she is never here and with recent events I don’t feel entirely safe being alone” Played Hazel aka Holmes. She watched Adam trying to hide the sadness, she wondered if he ever knew just how much he influenced her as a child aboard the Leviathan, mentored her to become who she was today until… well it wasn’t worth thinking about that now, the timeline was already changing.

Adam felt Holmes looking at him but didn’t look back, there was something off about her but he couldn’t grasp what it was, granted it could just be the strange situation and uniform. The Captain’s behaviour was another addition to the feeling but he suspected it went beyond that, it was close to becoming a hunch which he disliked, he’d often get hunches wich to him was just his subconscious mind making connections his conscious mind wasn’t aware of yet.

Iphigenia walked quickly to Sickbay, her mind racing. Every step felt like it echoed through the ship’s corridors, amplifying her anxiety. The encounter with Commander Holmes added a layer of complication; the temporal agent’s cryptic words hinted at events that were to take place that Iphigenia couldn’t fully grasp. Also she was sure Commander Magnusson’s stern yet concerned demeanor suggested that he saw through her facade. She could only hope that her feigned compliance would buy her enough time to figure out thiernext move. Holmes’ mention of not feeling safe alone resonated deeply with Iphigenia. In a way, she felt the same vulnerability, though for different reasons.

The doors to Sickbay slid open with a soft hiss, and Iphigenia stepped inside. The sterile, clinical environment did little to calm her nerves. She was greeted by Nurse Kanayo, whose Bajoran mannerisms were oddly reassuring.

“Hi, Captain,” greeted a second nurse, who rushed over to escort the CO to a bed. “Lieutenant Maxwell filled us in on the basics, we can run a full check on you and send the results for his official sign-off, if that’s alright?” She picked up a nearby tricorder and started the basics of said checkup, barring any objection from her patient.

Iphigenia nodded absently, her thoughts still tangled around the deception and uncertainty. She glanced around, taking in the familiar yet unsettling surroundings of Sickbay.

Adam leaned back against the wall behind the bed keeping an eye on every person in the room, he hadn’t had a chance yet to share his suspicions with the Security Chief but the man seemed qualified enough to make the right decisions.

Adam was keeping an eye on every person in the room. It was clear he wasn’t going anywhere.

“Thank you, Nurse Sierra…Kanayo,” Iphigenia said, as she headed to a biobed. “I appreciate your thoroughness.”

As Kanayo began scanning her and the tricorder’s soft hum began, Iphigenia tried to focus on the immediate concerns. She knew that Magnusson’s keen eyes would be on her, scrutinizing her every move. Her feigned compliance had to be convincing, and she needed to find a way to buy time and gather information about Holmes’ cryptic warnings. This all gnawed at her thoughts, Holms had suggested that the future held dangers for the Leviathan and its crew.

“Captain, if I may,” Nurse Kanayo interrupted her thoughts, “is there anything specific you’re concerned about? Any symptoms we should be aware of?”

Iphigenia hesitated. “No, just a general unease. It’s been… a trying day.” she said offering a faint smile. The routine checkup continued, but her mind drifted back to the temporal agent’s warning. Not feeling safe alone. Was it a hint towards an upcoming betrayal? A hidden threat within the crew?

The nurse’s eyes softened with understanding. “We’ll make sure you’re in good hands, Captain.” Kanayo turned to Nurse Sierra and said, “She seems fine according to the tricorder readings, do you want me to check her anything else?”
