Captain Luke Wyatt, newly appointed to the USS Leviathan, navigated the unfamiliar corridors with a sense of urgency. His fatigue weighed heavily on him, a constant companion aggravated by the sleepless night haunted by memories of past battles. Flashbacks of the Dominion War tormented his mind, triggering his acute PTSD.

As he approached the containment cell area, his thoughts briefly drifted to his daughter, Abbey. The reason for his assignment to the Leviathan, Abbey’s presence onboard, served as both a source of comfort and concern. He hoped she was safe and unaware of the dangers lurking within the ship’s confines.

With a deep breath, Luke tapped his communicator badge, his voice tinged with weariness. “Computer, what’s the status of the power fluctuations in the containment cells?”

The ship’s response echoed through the corridor, a metallic voice devoid of emotion. “Power fluctuations detected, Captain Wyatt. However, no anomalies have been identified.”

Luke’s brow furrowed with frustration. The unfamiliarity of the ship’s protocols regarding hazardous anomalies coupled with his exhaustion added to his unease. “Send a request to Engineering for immediate assistance,” he commanded, his tone firm despite his fatigue. “I need someone down here to take a closer look.”

Leaning against the wall for support, Luke closed his eyes briefly, trying to push back the memories threatening to overwhelm him. He couldn’t afford to let his PTSD interfere with his duties, not now, not on his first mission. With a determined exhale, he pushed himself upright, ready to face whatever challenges awaited him onboard the USS Leviathan.

The Marine Captain’s Comm Badge Chirped as he received a message from Lt. Ruuk =/\= Chief Engineer to Captain Wyatt. I’ve just gotten your request. What seems to be the trouble? =/\= Ruuk’s tone was jovial and friendly.
Things still seemed to be all up in the air for Ruuk. He’d not long since taken over in Engineering and he was still getting things organised as he wanted them. The request provided him with a pleasant distraction and a great opportunity to do some actual Engineering work.

=^=The anomaly containment cells are registering power fluctuations in the main force field power regulator, needless to say I’d rather not test the back ups with the cells almost at capacity, one anomaly alone can’t destroy the ship=^= he explained carrying out another diagnostic in preparation for the engineer.

=/\= Understood, I’m on my way. Ruuk out. =/\= Dayner walked over and picked up on of the on-the-go engineering kits that were contained in neat grey cases bearing the Star Fleet insignia and made his way to Wyatt’s location.

After a short but sprightly walk, Ruuk arrived. He placed the case down on the floor and withdrew a PADD from. “Okay…” he said as he began tapping away the screen. “Let’s see what we’re dealing with here…”

The diagnostic scan reveals disruptions in energy resonance within the containment cells’ force fields, likely due to external interference. Probable subspace interference is also detected, impacting the stability of the force field power regulator. Immediate action is recommended to conduct a localized field analysis and initiate subspace harmonization procedures to restore stability and ensure effective containment of hazardous anomalies.

“Hmmm” Ruuk hummed to himself quizzically. “This is a little unusual… but nothing we can’t fix. Any ideas on what might have caused this?” Ruuk asked.
