The serene atmosphere of the room was abruptly shattered as two figures materialized in the captain’s quarters. The one in armoured attire staggered slightly upon arrival, clearly affected by their recent ordeal, yet still capable enough to brandish a weapon at the captain. “Lock the room, raise force fields,” they commanded, their voice strained but resolute, prompting their onboard AI to comply without hesitation. “Captain,” the AI intoned, its tone conveying a sense of urgency, “I advise against any rash actions.”With tension thick in the air, the figure levelled their gaze at the captain, their weapon steady. “Please, Captain,” they continued, their voices firm but tinged with a hint of desperation, “let’s not make this any more difficult than it needs to be.”

USS LeviathanIphigenia materialized in the captain’s quarters, her arrival marked by a defensive stance, her body was poised for action. Her eyes darted around the room, taking in the scene on high alert, instinctively assessing the situation. She fixated on the armored figure before her, wary of the weapon they brandished and the command they issued to lock the room and raise force fields. Her defensive instincts were telling her to fight her way out and although skilled in combat she wasn’t armed and thought that was a smart idea in place of the warning they had given her.
“Where am I? Who are you?” Iphigenia asked quickly, as she took cautious steps backward, maintaining a safe distance from the armored individual. Her gaze moved around the room, searching for any sign of familiarity or clues. “Why have you brought me here? Did you take a little girl from my ship?” Her questions ranged out in rapid succession, her concern evident as she scanned the area, hoping against hope to catch a glimpse of the missing child amidst the tension of the moment.

(Commanding Officer)The figure groaned as they rose from the chair, their presumed weapon still trained on the Captain. “The child is safe, away from here,” they said, coughing as they spoke. “I was hoping to avoid any interaction with the crew, but it seems my actions have failed to prevent what is to come.” They staggered slightly, a clear indication of how the assault had taken its toll on them, offering the Captain a chance to strike.

USS LeviathanThe mention Hazel being safe alleviated some of her immediate concerns, but she remained wary of the armored figure before her. Their condition, marked by groans and visible struggle, hinted at an underlying vulnerability that clashed with their appearance. Iphigenia’s muscles tensed, ready to react however she needed to understand the full scope of the situation. With each cautious step backward, she maintained a strategic distance, keeping her options open and her senses sharp.
“I need more than just words. I need proof that Hazel Loughty is safe” Iphigenia replied, “I also need answers. Who are you really, and why did you bring me here?” Her eyes moved around the room, searching for clues that might shed light on their intentions.
Iphigenia observed the coughing fit, a subtle sign of weakness despite the figure’s facade. Despite the urge to exploit this vulnerability, she held back, realizing that violence might only escalate an already tense situation. Instead, she focused on gathering information, hoping to uncover the truth behind their unexpected encounter aboard the USS Leviathan.Captain Henao
(Commanding Officer)As the figure in the exoskeleton suit groaned, struggling to keep their arm raised, they finally succumbed to the strain and dropped it with a clatter. A series of coughs wracked their body, the effort of maintaining the facade clearly taking its toll. Despite the apparent weakness, determination burned behind the helmet’s visor.
Iphigenia couldn’t help but feel a bit of concern. “Are you alright?” she asked, her voice displaying genuine worry. Her instincts urged her to offer assistance, but caution held her back. There was too much at stake, too many unknowns in this situation.
“I can assure you, Captain,” came the strained voice from within the suit. With a flicker of light, the helmet dematerialized, revealing the face of an older woman with hazel eyes. There was a weariness in her expression, but also a sense of resolve.
“She is fine, for I am her,” Hazel declared, her voice stronger now, carrying an air of authority despite her physical condition. The revelation hung in the air, the implications sinking in as the truth of her identity dawned on those present in the room.
Commander Hazel Loughty
Starfleet Temporal AgentIphigenia was skeptical of their words her mind grappled with the paradox of the situation. She narrowed her eyes as she said “Forgive me for being skeptical, but this seems… improbable. The Hazel I am looking for is a child… a little girl and you are....not.”
Captain Henao
(Commanding Officer)Hazel chuckled softly, the sound carrying a mix of nostalgia and warmth. “No, no, I’m not a little girl anymore, but I’m still the same girl who had pizza nights with her favorite Captain,” she reminisced, a fond smile touching her lips. “The girl who ran wild in engineering and learned everything she knew from this crew.”
With a deliberate effort, Hazel pushed herself out of the chair, her movements careful yet determined. “Your security team will be here soon,” she added, her tone confident. “They’ll confirm my identity.” There was a quiet assurance in her words, a certainty born of familiarity and trust.

Starfleet Temporal AgentIphigenia’s skepticism dissolved into shock as she processed older Hazel’s words. The realization hit her and she immediately assumed the Hazel in front of her was from the future. Though she had heard of time travel and knew it was possible, such occurrences were rare, leaving her with a lot of questions. Foremost among them was why her ship had been invaded to take Hazel from her time.
Iphigenia quickly rushed to offer aid, her concern overriding any lingering doubts. “Hazel, what has happened? Everyone on the Leviathan is looking for you… the child version of you.” Her voice was filled with emotion which included fear, confusion, and of course, happiness that Hazel, little Hazel, had survived the kidnapping.
“And they will not find her, she is however safe of that I can assure you.” She explained not wanting to divulge much and still keeping her cards close to her chest.
“Please, tell me you’re from the future. If not, I’m not sure how Commander Loughty will react after returning and finding you all grown up.” Filled with worry and uncertainty, Iphigenia added, “Let me take a look at you.” She reached out, eager to assess any injuries. “We need to get you to sickbay.” She wanted to help the older version of the little girl she once knew.

(Commanding Officer)“Commander Loughty…” Her tone carried a dismissive edge, her gaze distant as if focused on some unseen horizon. “By the time he returns to the ship, I will be gone.” She refrained from mentioning that her father would never return to the ship; it would be destroyed before he could make his way back from his current destination.
“Captain, I will accept medical attention, however, I must request that my real identity and presence here be kept to a minimum,” she continued, her words weighted with significance. “The timeline depends on it.” Once more, she chose not to divulge the full extent of her knowledge to her former captain. The timeline she sought to alter was the very one they were currently navigating, a truth too perilous to reveal.
Commander Hazel Loughty
Starfleet Temporal AgentYour secret is safe with me,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper as she assessed the woman’s condition. “You must tell me more, Hazel,” she urged quietly, her eyes displaying concern. “How did you end up here? And why is it so crucial that your presence remains hidden? Are you in trouble…is the Levi the target of some type of threat?”
Captain Henao
(Commanding Officer)Hazel, still visibly fatigued, spoke in a cryptic tone. “Not now, not yet,” she began, her words laden with urgency. “I am a Temporal Agent, or was… This mission isn’t strictly on the books, and I am certain I do not have much time before they realize I have gone. But I couldn’t just…” Her sentence trailed off, hinting at the weight of her undisclosed mission.
“For now, Captain, we need to come up with a story,” Hazel continued, her tone businesslike despite her weariness. “Firstly, we’ll need to explain why your internal sensors are showing Hazel in this room. I suggest blaming it on sensor damage or a virus left behind by the attacker. Second, I need to get out of this suit and into an old uniform. I think intelligence will work. Then, I should probably answer all your questions, but perhaps in a briefing with your senior staff for now.” Her directives were clear, outlining the immediate steps needed to navigate the delicate situation they found themselves in.
Commander Hazel Loughty
Starfleet Temporal Agent
USS LeviathanIphigenia listened Hazel. A Temporal Agent? The secrecy surrounding such a role was notorious, and the fact that Hazel was here, injured and seeking refuge aboard the Leviathan, only deepened the mystery.
As Hazel outlined her plan, Iphigenia nodded in agreement, her thoughts aligning with the need for quick action. “Understood,” she replied softly, her voice steady despite the apprehension about keeping a secret from her crew. “I’ll do everything I can to ensure your safety and maintain the integrity of your mission.”
As for the sensors, we need to prepare to implement sensor damage protocol,” she said. “I am not an engineer…so I wouldn’t be able to perform this task myself. Is this something you can do, if not I would suggest that you allow me to bring in someone I can trust to to keep your secret to implement it.” Iphigenia knew she needed someone reliable and discreet for this delicate task, and Dlayne, a cadet in engineering, seemed like the perfect choice. He was a cadet, wanting to prove himself, and would be open to the task. She also considered her CIO, Magnusson, as she was sure he could complete the task and due to the nature of his role he was good at keeping secrets. “I have the perfect people in mind. We can trust either one of them.”Captain Henao
(Commanding Officer)Hazel paused for a moment, contemplating her options. “I can manage it on my own, or rather, my enhancements can,” she explained. After a brief silence, she continued, “I’m glad you have confidence in your crew. If you trust them, then so do I. However, I cannot overstate the importance of what I have to share with you, nor the consequences if we mishandle it… poorly.” Her words trailed off, hinting at a deeper significance.
“May I have access to your computer?” she inquired, her tone serious and determined.

With a nod, Iphigenia acknowledged Hazel’s request. “Of course,” she replied, gesturing towards the nearby computer console. “I’ll grant you access to our computer systems.” Iphigenia’s attention turned to the task granting Hazel access to the ship’s computer. She needed to ensure that their sensors were properly disabled to avoid any unwanted attention while Hazel carried out her mission.
Iphigenia knew she had to tread carefully, to ensure her crew’s safety and Hazel’s mission’s success. But with each passing moment, the weight of their clandestine collaboration pressed down upon her shoulders like a heavy burden.
