Once in sickbay, Iphigenia made sure each member of the away team received a thorough examination. She observed their interactions with the medical staff, noting any signs of distress or discomfort. Despite the physical injuries some of them sustained, she found solace in the resilient spirits of her crewmates. Particularly Jackson. A small bit of the worm’s venomous saliva had landed on his arm as it ensnared Davis. Jackson’s quick thinking and agility had saved him from further harm as he sought refuge on an elevated rock formation. The corrosive substance from the creature’s goo had begun to eat through his suit, causing severe burns upon contact with his skin. His timely transport back to the Leviathan averted potential catastrophic consequences, sparing him from the grim prospect of losing his arm.

Mac was trying very hard to not listen to what had happened to Jackson, because it made the visual of what Davis had to have gone through before he died so much more painful to consider. She was glad Jackson was going to be okay. Biggs was grumbling half-heartedly as the medical personnel cross referenced his last physical with his current condition. Though by and large he was fine more or less.

Mac grinned cheekily as the medical personnel brought up her records. “Yes I know I am very late for my boarding physical. You notice I am not trying to slink away right?”

“It’s alright, Lieutenant,” Brad laughed, running scans as the NE nearby called up the team’s records. “I’ve been behind on enforcing those physicals in the first place.” He turned to another NE. “Ensign, get that arm cleaned and start regeneration. Double check to make sure nothing got into his bloodstream.”

Her left ankle was going to show up as newly sprained but she had done that plenty in the past to know what they were going to say etc. She had broken several bones and dislocated her shoulders a few times both in gymnastics meets and just trying some new sport growing up. Though the last time she had dislocated her shoulder had been in a rock climbing event with her friends a year ago. She was at the bottom of the line while her friend Trysten was the first. He had somehow gotten unhooked from the rope and fell, the others tried to slow his fall but they were not at the best angle at the time. She’d caught him and his weight and gravity pulled her left shoulder out of the socket. Not a fun end to the climb but at least they’d survived. The jokes “You’ll be a great mom since you can catch a 250 pounder and keep moving.” and other lines, varied but she had no plan to repeat the experience if it could be avoided.

As Mac made her remark about being late for her boarding physical, Iphigenia couldn’t help but chuckle softly under her breath. She glanced over at Mac, a small smile playing on her lips.

“You’re never one to shy away from a little banter, huh?” Iphigenia replied with a hint of amusement in her tone. Despite the seriousness of their situation, she appreciated Mac’s ability to inject some humor into the moment.

Mac looked at Iphigenia and shrugged slightly, “Shy me, only when my parents try to set me up with someone.” she retorted, showing off another cheeky grin, solidifying the fact she enjoyed banter and a bit of sass when it suited the situation. Besides getting a few grins and shakes of head helped ease the way for other conversation. Even if it wasn’t going to be pleasant, at least in her opinion.

“Alright,” Brad said, “let’s get that sprain treated. Looks like you’ve had quite the tumultuous history with your joints.”

Ruuk was the next to enter Sickbay. Approaching the other members of the away team he asked: “How is everybody holding up?”. It had been a distressing and unusual away mission, but at this moment, all Ruuk could feel was relief. He was pleased to be alive and pleased to be back aboard the Leviathan . Now that the adrenaline of the mission had worn off, Ruuk felt incredibly tired. But the work was just beginning for him. He had yet to go through the recorded data in detail - the though of which made him feel ever more tired, so he pushed the thought out of his mind and focused on the well-being of his Crewmates.
