~Snip~Oliver entered the bridge just as a communication came in, and he took a moment to acknowledge Ynuchausti’s attention to detail. “Thank you, Lieutenant. Your meticulous approach to protocol is truly commendable. While you correctly assumed that the Lieutenant has my authorization to launch the probes, I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on an idea we’ve been contemplating,” he explained, closing the gap with a steady walk.
“Yes, sir,” she said and quickly moved aside back to the communication console. “Anything I can do to help.”
“As we launch the probes, our goal is to gather valuable data on the generated Electromagnetic field. In addition to that, we’re exploring the possibility of using this data to facilitate the retrieval of the away team. To make our assistance more apparent to them, we’re considering piggybacking small data packages of text to their tricorders,” as the communications officer on duty I figure you are best suited to attempt this?” he continued, inviting Ynuchausti to share his insights on this innovative approach.

USS LeviathanJhene nodded, acknowledging the Commander’s words. She considered the proposal carefully, her fingers hovering over the controls of the communications console. “Commander, that’s an intriguing idea. Piggybacking data packages to their tricorders could indeed help them understand our efforts and intentions. It might provide them with essential information and updates in real-time, ensuring better coordination between the away team and the ship.”
She glanced at the officer who had previously been manning the comms console, signaling them to prepare for the transmission. “I’ll coordinate with the science and engineering teams to craft concise and informative messages. The data packages must be not only informative but also easily decipherable by the away team. We wouldn’t want to overload their tricorders with unnecessary information.”
Jhene’s focus shifted back to the Commander. “If you have any specific details or messages you’d like to include, Commander, please let me know.”

Saoir’s voice echoed through the room as he continued coordinating with the CIC. =^=CIC, this is Saoir. We are preparing to launch probes synchronized with the transporter operation. Stand by for updates.=^=Ynuchausti, Comms Officer
=^= Understood, we are standing by=^= Oliver replied turning to Jhene.
“I’ll leave the contents of the message up to your good judgment, Lieutenant,” he explained, showing full trust in the crew. As XO, it was his duty to make the Captain’s life as easy as possible, and while the Captain was away, finding the right blend of command and delegation to the senior staff was crucial. “Once you have the message and the probe is underway, let me know,” he added.
Jhene nodded again, absorbing the responsibility entrusted to her. She respected the Commander’s trust and was determined to execute the task with precision. “Understood, Commander. I’ll make sure the messages are concise, relevant, and easily comprehensible for the away team.” Her fingers danced over the controls, initiating the communication protocols with the science and engineering teams.
As the officers began to gather information for the data packages, Jhene pondered on crafting messages that conveyed the gravity of the situation without overwhelming the tricorders. The success of the mission hinged on effective communication, and she was determined to play her part flawlessly.
“Commander,” she called over her shoulder, not taking her eyes off the console, “I’ll include details on the planetary environment, any anomalies detected, and the current status of the transporter operation.”

=^=CIC, we’re initiating the probe launch now. Standby for confirmation.......Probes away. Initiating atmospheric entry. Standby for dead drop descent maneuver.=^=. =^=Confirmed Ensign Saoir,Standby for telemetry feed.=^= said Jhene, then she turned her attention back to the Commander. “The probes are ready for launch, Commander.” With a final review of the message content, Jhene signaled to the communications officer at the console. =^=Initiate probe launch sequence, and make sure to synchronize it with the ongoing transporter operation. Let’s ensure a seamless delivery of information to the away team.=^=
As the probe launch sequence began, Jhene monitored the telemetry feed closely, her focus locked on the console.
With his prior orders issued for an immediate launch, Oliver found himself with the opportunity to step back and entrust the crew to execute their duties. As he observed the holographic table displaying incoming data and the view screen projecting the HUD for the probe, a sense of responsibility settled upon him. Despite being new to the Leviathane, Oliver sensed a growing level of respect and trust among the crew. With the Captain absent and facing peril, it had fallen upon him and the rest of the crew to rise to the occasion. And rise they did, each member demonstrating their commitment to the ship and its mission.

USS LeviathanOn screen in the CIC they would see the probes trajectory and be able to view their descent. Suddenly, an alarm blared through the communication console..... Saoir’s voice came through shortly after, =^=It’s okay. We’ve got a minor deviation in atmospheric pressure. Adjusting thrusters for stabilization.=^=
As the probes approached their destination, the room fell silent, the tension mounting once again. When The probes successfully landed on the planet’s surface, Jhene monitored the incoming data.
=^=Ensign Saoir, telemetry feed established. Standby for data transfer.=^=
Lieutenant Junior Grade Ynuchausti
(Communications Officer)Still silently observing and standing over the holotable, yet another Leviathan-ism he would have to grow used to, Oliver rubbed his hand together squeezing his fingers tight and clicking them in anticipation of some good news.
Suddenly, the console beeped, indicating a successful connection. “We’ve got the telemetry feed,” an NE Comms Officer announced, his voice tinged with a mix of excitement and urgency.
The holographic display flickered to life, revealing a 3D map of the planet and the location of the away team six blinking dots in close proximity to one another. One dot was far from the rest of the away team. “That’s Ensign Jackson,” he pointed to a blinking dot on the map. “Looks like he’s on an elevated landscape not far from them.”
Captain Henao’s voice echoed through the communication console =^=Leviathan, do you read me?=^=
Henao, CO
=^= Captain=^= Oliver’s voice was momentarily split between panic and relief, steadying his nerve and returning to his composed manner, =^=We are reading you Captain, We have sent a probe to piggyback our transmissions after we were forced to withdraw from orbit by an electromagnetic attack, we are sending you all the data we have collected, we are also getting telemetry and tracking data, it appears one of your away team members is away from your location, Ensign Jackson. , What’s your situation?=^=

=/\=Bridge advise landing party to move extremely slow, with little impact when stepping. Better no movement at all and let us beam them aboard. Their friends are extremely motion perceptive and definitely move faster than them.=/\=Lieutenant Kitiuas Thenis, Science
USS Leviathan=^=Understood=^= “Lieutenant Ynuchausti please communicate Thensis’ instructions to the away team” he ordered, it was easy enough for Oliver to do so but he didn’t want to encroach onto the comms officers job when she was clearly capable.

USS LeviathanJhalae gave a dutiful nod to the commander and replied, =^=Noted Lieutenant Thenis. I’ll be sure to relay the message to the away team.=^=
Lieutenant Junior Grade Ynuchausti
(Communications Officer)There was no response from Jackson.
Iphigenia felt a rush of relief flood over her. Despite the circumstances, hearing from her executive officer brought a sense of familiarity and reassurance in uncertainty.
=^=Commander Loughty, it’s good to hear your voice,=^= Iphigenia replied, her tone a mix of relief and gratitude. =^=We read you loud and clear. Thank you for the update. We’ve encountered some unexpected challenges down here, but we’re managing.=^=
Iphigenia took a moment to gather her thoughts, knowing that every word exchanged was crucial given their limited communication window. =^=How’s the ship holding up? Any further developments on your end? Ensign Jackson’s situation is unknown. It’s been a while since we have seen him. Do you have any information on his whereabouts?=^= she inquired, her concern for her crew evident in her voice.
Jhene chimed in over the Comms, =^= Captain! It’s good to hear your voice. Lieutenant Thenis has advised that you stay put while they work on beaming back aboard the Leviathan. The creatures on the planet are extremely sensitive to movement. Even the slightest movement can rile them up.=^=
=^=Noted Lieutenant Ynuchausti.=^= Then Iphigenia said, =^=I am glad Lieutenant Thenis has made it back to the Leviathan safely. Hopefully, we can make it a....=^= there was a sad pause as she remembered the officers who had been killed on the planet…=^=somewhat all-inclusive reunion.=^=

Suddenly, the console beeped again, signaling success in locking onto the away team’s coordinates.
Deshara announced over comms to the bridge, =^=We’ve got a lock on the away team, Commander!=^=
Cadet Toussaint
(Scientist)“Excellent,” Oliver exclaimed, exactly the news he had hoped for. He turned to his communications officer with a decisive nod. “Signal the away team to get ready for immediate transport. Take them straight to sickbay,” he instructed. “Keep me informed once they’re all safely on board,” Oliver added thoughtfully. After a brief pause, he addressed the science officer in the CIC. “And let’s also prepare a warning buoy. We need to ensure that others don’t encounter the same danger we did.”
As he issued these orders, Oliver couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief washing over him. The ordeal was almost over, and soon they would have the away team safely back on board.
Commander Oliver Loughty
Executive Officer
USS Leviathan^=Captain Henao, this is Lieutenant Ynuchausti. We are preparing for transport. I’ll ensure Ensign Jackson is accounted for and report back as soon as we’re safely aboard the Leviathan,=^= Ynuchausti responded.
Ynuchausti, Comms. Officer
=^=Acknowledged, Liutenant. We appreciate the swift action. We’ll be ready for transport and proceed directly to sickbay upon arrival,=^= Iphigenia replied, gratitude in her voice. She turned her attention to Ensign Jackson, hoping for some positive news. =^=Keep an eye out for Ensign Jackson, and inform me immediately if there are any updates on his status.=^=
While waiting for the transport, Iphigenia took a moment to assess the situation on the planet. The loss of her crew members weighed heavily on her, and she couldn’t shake the feeling of responsibility for their well-being. She took a deep breath, steadying herself for the upcoming reunion.
Captain Henao
(Commanding Officer)Deshara’s voice broke through the comms once more, =^=Transport sequence initiated. Standby for arrival in three… two… one… Transport complete.=^=
Toussaint, ScienceIphigenia felt the familiar tingling sensation as the away team materialized on the Leviathan. She glanced around, making sure everyone was accounted for. =^=Lieutenant Ynuchausti, report in. Ensign Jackson’s status?=^=
