With Counselor Nyman on the bridge, Laural was holding down the fort in her office. There was always work to be done, of course, but under the circumstances, Laural couldn’t help but keep a video feed from the bridge open to monitor activities. It wasn’t every day the Leviathan approached an uncharted planet so beautiful and shrouded in mystery, and while Witley was pragmatic enough to understand there wasn’t a need for two counselors on the bridge prepared to offer guidance and support, that didn’t mean she wasn’t willing to indulge her own curiosity in the process…at least as far as her own duties allowed.

The planet was absolutely stunning, and thewas enough to stop Laural in her mental tracks for several moments. She was in love with exploring the mysteries of the sentient condition, but times like this reminded her there was more to explore in the larger universe than merely other beings, and that in fact, scientific phenomena on this scale could make any being, no matter how unique or complex, feel insignificant in comparison.

The door to her office chimed softly. Jhene waited quietly and patiently to be invited in.

“Come in,” Laural called out, pulled from her reverie. She was lost in thought as she admired the planet, but the arrival of someone in need was enough to get her full attention.

Jhene stepped into Laural’s office, the door sliding shut behind her.

“Counselor,” Jhene greeted with a warm smile. “I hope I’m not interrupting anything important.”

Jhene hesitated for a moment, choosing her words carefully. “I’ve…I decided it was time I come and see you. Since I have joined the Levi, I have noticed a subtle tension on the bridge.” She hesitated again, “I have been known to have somewhat of an abrasive personality. I thought perhaps you could offer some insights or guidance on how to be more…kinder. I don’t know why I am that way I just am.”
