NE Michaels was already attempting to establish locks on the away team when the XO’s voice permeated the air around him. He slapped the console in frustration, =^= No Captain, I mean Commander. Michaels didn’t need to be told but he appreciated the affirmation, Once again he recalibrated the transfer targeting system, the computer paused whilst it ran its analysis and displayed a .6 variation to the alignment beam, “Damn it! .3 over the accepted limit!” Michaels was interrupted when the security and medical teams began arriving and took it as his cue to begin readying their transport to the surface and Archaeutatus.

As the ship hurtled through the turbulent atmosphere, the entire vessel shuddered violently in response to the electromagnetic pulse. The sudden impact caused the lights to flicker and the holographic displays to momentarily glitch. The ship’s automated systems triggered the unmistakable blare of klaxons, bathing every corridor and compartment in the ominous glow of red alert. The abrupt transition caught several crew members off guard, leading to moments of unsteadiness and stumbling.
