Medical Symptoms Report, Lieutenant Nyman's Quarters

{OOC: Another backstory heavy post but I’m also open to someone expanding on this if they want or stopping by so I’m not sure how to label it. - Ava}

IC:

“Medical Symptoms Report, Lieutenant Todd Nyman: Reporting another episode of involuntary form shifting during sleep. I woke up this morning in the form of a Betazoid male, one of the group who aided in my escape to Federation space. I don’t have many of his personal memories left. It has been a few years.”

Eight and a half years, to be exact. On a Romulan prison transport. A group of ‘independent miners’, Federation citizens regardless, were being detained for ‘suspicious activity’. Also in transport was him, the Vendorian spy who was caught infiltrating the Tal Shiar.

It rushed back to him. The dry, stale air in the isolation cell. The blinding brightness of its lights. The weight of the solid metal restraint device that prevented him from changing forms. He didn’t recall where the others were kept or how they escaped. Just that somehow the young empath had been drawn to his cell.

“My own memories of that time are painful, and he was able to feel that pain in me. It compelled him to convince the others to help. If he hadn’t, I would probably be… ”

Nyman’s voice creaked to a halt. He sat staring blankly at the screen that had printed the text of the report in front of him. The indicator at the end of the cut off line flashed impatiently. He wiped the moisture from his eyes. Looked at how it glistened on the skin of his now human fingers. Another involuntary response.

“Computer, strike that last statement from the record. End report and send it to all relevant Starfleet medical personnel.”

A small beep indicated the computer had done so.
