Shoval hesitantly began his journey to the counselor’s office,he took the Turbolift to deck thirty three. Slowly walked out of the lift, and made his way to the Counseling Center and found the office. He rang the chime and waited for a response.

Lt.jg Shoval Drang rtfo

As soon as Shoval rang the chime, the door to the counselor’s office immediately slid open, revealing a space reminiscent of a serene Risian vacation bungalow. The room was bathed in soft, gentle lighting that created a soothing atmosphere. When Shoval stepped inside he would see a comfortable seating area, with a few chairs arranged around a small table.
After a brief moment, a friendly face emerged from behind a desk, offering a warm smile to Shoval. The counselor, Dr. Almikaz, greeted him with kindness. “Welcome”, she looked at her PaDD briefly, then continued “Lieutenant j.g. Drang. Please have a seat. How can I be of assistance to you today?”

Shoval took a seat “well I have never been to a counselor before, so excuse me for not knowing what to say. But I just boarded so I was told I need to see you ,nice office humans must like it.” Shoval looked around the room, and saw the lighting it seemed to put him at ease.

Surra smiled at Shoval. “No need to apologize, Lieutenant Drang. It’s completely understandable to feel unsure about what to say during your first counseling session. I’m here to help guide you through the process and make you feel comfortable. I’m glad you find the office appealing. The serene atmosphere and lighting are designed to create a calming environment. It’s important for individuals to feel relaxed and safe when discussing their thoughts and emotions.”
Surra leaned forward slightly, maintaining her friendly demeanor. “Since it’s your first time, we can start by simply getting to know each other. Feel free to share any concerns, challenges, or experiences you’d like to discuss. Our session is a safe space where confidentiality is respected, and my goal is to support you in any way I can. You can take your time, and there’s no pressure to say anything specific. We can go at your pace.
She paused for a moment, giving Shoval an opportunity to gather his thoughts or ask any questions.

“Well I remember hunting wild targ with my farther K’upus back on Qo’noS. It was a glorious time, counselor i fear I will never do that again. For you see he is 135years old .”

Shoval Drang rtfo

Surra listened to Shoval as he reminisced about hunting wild targ with his father on Qo’noS. “It sounds like you have fond memories of those times, Lieutenant Drang. The bond between a parent and child can be incredibly special, especially when engaging in shared activities like hunting. It’s understandable that you might feel a sense of loss or sadness knowing that those experiences may not be repeated due to your father’s age.”

She paused for a moment, letting the sentiment sink in. “Grief and acceptance are natural processes when faced with the inevitability of change and the passing of time. It can be challenging to come to terms with the fact that certain experiences may not happen again. If you’re comfortable, could you share more about how this realization is impacting you? Are there specific emotions or concerns that arise when you think about not being able to hunt with your father again?”

Surra leaned back slightly, giving Shoval the space to express himself further or ask any questions that might arise from her response.

“You see counselor, I am angry times have changed. It’s as if those times are over and the situation is not going to change, I am as well as I can be with the situation counselor. I just miss the old days, but it is just so.”

Shoval Drang rtfo

Surra nodded, acknowledging Shoval’s feelings of anger and longing for the past. “It’s completely understandable to feel anger when faced with changes that take away something you hold dear. The loss of those cherished experiences can be difficult to accept. It sounds like you miss the connection and the joy you felt while hunting with your father, and it’s natural to grieve the loss of those moments.”

She leaned forward slightly. “It’s important to allow yourself to mourn what has changed and acknowledge the emotions that come with it. Anger, sadness, and longing are all valid reactions. Have you had a chance to talk with your father about how you feel? Sharing your thoughts and memories with him might help both of you find comfort in reminiscing together.”

Surra paused, giving Shoval an opportunity to respond or share anything else on his mind.

S. Almikaz, Counselor

“You see Counselor, it makes me long for the old days. I am no young warrior anymore and I’m still a very strong man, but the past is still the past I have accepted that. Just makes me wonder how much more time, have I have left. Sto-vo-kor Is not as far, as it use to be for me. I shall hope I go there someday, but for now my duty is to the federation.”

Shoval Drang rtfo

“It’s natural to reflect on the passage of time and think about the future, especially as we grow older. It’s commendable that you have accepted the changes that come with age while still remaining dedicated to your duty to the Federation. Balancing the past with the present can be a delicate task.” She leaned back slightly, offering a compassionate perspective. “While the afterlife may hold a special place in your beliefs, it’s also important to find meaning and fulfillment in the present moment. Is there anything within your current role in the Federation that brings you a sense of purpose or joy? Perhaps there are new experiences or connections you can forge that will provide a different kind of fulfillment, even if it’s different from the past.”

“ my role as recovery team leader is a honor, I hope made a few connections one is cadet Deshara Toussaint. We share the same interests .”

Shoval Drang rtfo

Surra smiled, “That’s great Lieutenant Drang! It seems that you have found a sense of purpose and fulfillment in your role as the recovery team leader for the Federation. It’s wonderful to hear that you consider it an honor and that you have formed a connection with Cadet Deshara Toussaint, someone who shares your interests. Building connections and fostering relationships with like-minded individuals can certainly contribute to a sense of joy and fulfillment in one’s work.” She got up to get a glass of water, and she brought him one back as a well, “As you continue in your role, I encourage you to explore new experiences and opportunities within the Federation that may bring you additional meaning and fulfillment. The ever-evolving nature of our organization provides numerous avenues for growth and personal development. Consider seeking out projects or assignments that align with your passions and allow you to make a positive impact. This could involve mentoring new team members, leading important missions, or participating in initiatives that promote innovation and progress within the Federation. Additionally, it’s worth considering how you can integrate your past experiences and wisdom into your current role. Your accumulated knowledge and expertise can be invaluable assets in guiding and inspiring those around you. Sharing your insights and providing guidance to others can create a sense of purpose and fulfillment that goes beyond your individual contributions.” She took a sip of her water then said, “I think you are mentally fit for duty. If you ever feel the need for further guidance or support in this journey, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or other trusted individuals such as the Captain and XO. We are here to assist you in finding the fulfillment and happiness you seek.”
