Shoval hesitantly began his journey to the counselor’s office,he took the Turbolift to deck thirty three. Slowly walked out of the lift, and made his way to the Counseling Center and found the office. He rang the chime and waited for a response.

As soon as Shoval rang the chime, the door to the counselor’s office immediately slid open, revealing a space reminiscent of a serene Risian vacation bungalow. The room was bathed in soft, gentle lighting that created a soothing atmosphere. When Shoval stepped inside he would see a comfortable seating area, with a few chairs arranged around a small table.
After a brief moment, a friendly face emerged from behind a desk, offering a warm smile to Shoval. The counselor, Dr. Almikaz, greeted him with kindness. “Welcome”, she looked at her PaDD briefly, then continued “Lieutenant j.g. Drang. Please have a seat. How can I be of assistance to you today?”

Shoval took a seat “well I have never been to a counselor before, so excuse me for not knowing what to say. But I just boarded so I was told I need to see you ,nice office humans must like it.” Shoval looked around the room, and saw the lighting it seemed to put him at ease.

Surra smiled at Shoval. “No need to apologize, Lieutenant Drang. It’s completely understandable to feel unsure about what to say during your first counseling session. I’m here to help guide you through the process and make you feel comfortable. I’m glad you find the office appealing. The serene atmosphere and lighting are designed to create a calming environment. It’s important for individuals to feel relaxed and safe when discussing their thoughts and emotions.”
Surra leaned forward slightly, maintaining her friendly demeanor. “Since it’s your first time, we can start by simply getting to know each other. Feel free to share any concerns, challenges, or experiences you’d like to discuss. Our session is a safe space where confidentiality is respected, and my goal is to support you in any way I can. You can take your time, and there’s no pressure to say anything specific. We can go at your pace.
She paused for a moment, giving Shoval an opportunity to gather his thoughts or ask any questions.

“Well I remember hunting wild targ with my farther K’upus back on Qo’noS. It was a glorious time, counselor i fear I will never do that again. For you see he is 135years old .”

Surra listened to Shoval as he reminisced about hunting wild targ with his father on Qo’noS. “It sounds like you have fond memories of those times, Lieutenant Drang. Surra leaned back slightly, giving Shoval the space to express himself further or ask any questions that might arise from her response.

“You see counselor, I am angry times have changed. It’s as if those times are over and the situation is not going to change, I am as well as I can be with the situation counselor. I just miss the old days, but it is just so.”

Surra nodded, acknowledging Shoval’s feelings of anger and longing for the past. “It’s completely understandable to feel anger when faced with changes that take away something you hold dear. Surra paused, giving Shoval an opportunity to respond or share anything else on his mind.

“You see Counselor, it makes me long for the old days. I am no young warrior anymore and I’m still a very strong man, but the past is still the past I have accepted that. Just makes me wonder how much more time, have I have left. Sto-vo-kor Is not as far, as it use to be for me. I shall hope I go there someday,but for now my duty is to the federation.”
