It was calm for once. It had been almost a month sence Cerenity caused or gotent herself into trouble yet, and everything was fine so far. She walked the deck doing her usual rounds.Luna enjoyed patrols. She liked to see that everything was as it should be. It was a comforting feeling to see the ship running smothe no intruders or anomalies that had broken containment. Though she could not help but feel that everything was to quiet. Something was bound to go wrong. She reminded herself.
Becoming complacent could get her and eveyone onbord the ship killed. She know this better then most. It was just that that had alwed her to escape the section 31 facility that she had been held at. One of the guards had forgotten to lock her cell door allowing her to leave when they were not looking. They still tried to chase her down but she got away irregardless. None the less she know very well. Not to let her guard down and to check evey corner of the ship for problems.
Ensign LunaFor Kara Nakuto, the night had so far been productive. If a little exhausting. Anomaly boarding had taken days to complete, with the half-Klingon one of several senior researchers overseeing the complex and dangerous task. It had been her remit to catalogue environmental and dietary requirements of each new sentient horror and compare against the technical capabilities of the Leviathan herself. In a handful of cases, they had been forced to jury-rig temporary conditions, although she felt confident that Durheim’s team would soon invent more permanent solutions.
But right now, anomalies and engineering was far from the half-Klingon’s mind. Indeed her focus was fixed on one lone and all-important thing. Coffee. Or more precisely, a large, steaming mug of raktajino. Stepping out of the main containment office, she nearly collided with the security officer on patrol.
“Luna?” she roared with her customary enthusiasm. “I have not seen you for some time, my friend. How are you?”

Luna blinked and looked at Kara. ” I’m OK Captain how are you” she said with a gentle smile. Though there was sumthing behind her smile that said that was not entirely true. ” I’m just on my usual Patrol how are you. I heard about the new anomalies that were brought onboard I bet you have been buzzy with them?” She asked.
Ensign LunaNakuto frowned, a visual indication of her suspicion that Luna was hiding something. She did not seem her usual, cheery self, at any rate.
“Anomaly onboarding has been…what is the human saying…?” her hands reached as if grasping for the appropriate phrase, before declaring with a roar of laughter, “…a total pain in the ass! Still, they are mostly all onboard and secured away now. The research teams are going to have their hands full with some of them.”
Moving to the nearest wall, the half-Klingon settled herself against it before drawing from her trouser pocket an ornate hipflask. Uncorking it, she enjoyed a long sip, the familiar, metallic tang of bloodwine diffusing into the air, before wiping the neck and offering it out to Luna.
“So, how about you tell me how you really are?” she inquired, with all the diplomacy and tact of a rampaging herd of cattle. “I can see that something is bothering you. And I would like to help. If I can?”

“Cerenity has just gotten worse sence we lost Loki. Iv fallen for a scientist Jin, and feal conflicted about the there no way Cerenity will accept him. I’m failing as her mother.” She said shaking her head. She half wanted to cry. But she took a few deep breaths and calmed herself down.
Kara moved quickly to stand before Luna and take firm but gentle hold of her shoulders.
“Luna, listen to me,” the half-Klingon’s tone was insistent. “You are not failing as Cerenity’s mother. What happened to Loki, the place he was dragged to, where he followed me to, it was…”
She trailed off as her voice began breaking, unable to return, even mentally, to the void.
“Luna, I do not know where Loki has gone. I do not know if he will ever return. But I do know that he would not want you to be alone. He would want you to be happy. You and Cerenity both. And if this Jin is a good man and good for your daughter then I see no reason why you should not explore it to the full.”
” then ther Vonn and the RTF. I sware he heats me and don’t want me on the team. This sniper and arkangel nonsense seems like just a way to keep me out of the way. All anyone sees when they look at me or my file is a frail week bird girl. I’m more then capable and able to handle myself in a real fight. I just wish for once people would look at me and see the truth. I’m tired of having to prove my skills and abilities over and over again.” Luna said frustrated.

At the mention of the RTF Chief, Nakuto’s expression soured. “Vonn is…a unique character, are they not,” she shrugged. “I can not deny the warrior within them, the courage and the strength and the resolve under pressure. It is…impressive. And yet I can neither deny that they are an arrogant, judgemental pain in the ass.”
She laughed and shook her head.
“But Luna, perhaps they do not tease you with this training. Fighting anomalies is unlike fighting any other opponent. As I am sure you already know. It requires far more than speed and brute strength. But also patience and tenacity and the ability to adapt your own combat style to an almost infinite variety of foe. Perhaps it is those skills that Kodek Vonn is trying to unlock within you? A silent assassin. An archangel. It seems to be rather fitting, no?”
