The new doctor/medical researcher had arrived and Casela had several items that came on board with her. Half of her shipment was personal, the other half was gifts she’d ordered as part of her ‘mandatory’ morale work that Cmdr Raauhl insisted on. Luckily for Casela, this was something she was already doing. She just didn’t add it to her reports. This was one officer she wondered if it would be better to ignore. Akirel Ros was someone she did not want to cross. She had mixed feeling about him being on board. His arrival had certainly been amusing. Until he’d claimed to be out of Section 31. No one got out of Section 31, retired if you were lucky, deemed no longer useful could go either way. She’d tried to confirm it and the only thing she got was an all operative notice to ‘stay away from him and out of his way if you can’t.’ That scared her more than the idea of finding Cordell Xandel on her door step.

But he was crew and so based on a few impressions, comments from others and intuition she ordered a gift. Unlike others though, she made no pretense of sneaking it to them. The last thing she wanted was to have to cross swords, as it were, with Akirel Ros. She figured the open lab where he worked was the best place to leave it. It didn’t require access codes, she would be seen going in with the box and leaving without it. She left a tricorder on top of it on continuous scan, she didn’t need him thinking she’d left a bomb on his lab table. Inside was a very impressive and widely diverse collection of cuffs.
