Posted by… suppressed (1) by the Post Ghost! 👻Casela had successfully avoided Manhattan since the glitter balloon had exploded in his office. She’d seen the images that several crewmen had of both Manhattan and Cobb coming out of his office, the night of her surgery, covered in glitter. And under normal circumstances she would have found it funny. Now, in the middle of the night, when Manhattan was sure to be asleep, Casela was entering his office, to clean up the mess, that was, for all intents and purposes, her fault.
Taking a trick from Bog she brought a tricorder with her. The office was still covered in the small metallic reflective paper. She scanned the composition of it and placed a container on his desk. She used the scans from the tricorder to program the site to site transporter to collect all the glitter and put it in the container. She scanned the office several times to make sure it was all gone.
Today was also Manhattan’s birthday. So now he had a clean office and she left a package on his desk. The man had an impressive weapons collection that Casela admired. So with a note that read To add to an already respectable collection, Happy Birthday Inside the box was a pair of ancient Earth dueling pistols.

Manhattan was shocked about the treatment he received that day “I guess I need more Birthday,” he said looking at the box. He had just finished his daily training routine, and receiving a gift from one of his best agents made him smile a bit.
Taking off the wrapping and looking at the refined wooden box, Manhattan almost knew what was inside. He saw a pair of ancient Earth’s gun the first time he went on Earth, for a museum showcase, and now that he had it, oh well, he couldn’t shake of joy to open the box with careful manners “Oh look at those beauties!” He held one of them in hand “So sick.”
Inspecting more the weapons, the Captain wielded the arms both trying to impersonate some sort of pirate or officer. When he was done, Erve couldn’t help but get a big smile on his face and tapped his commbadge =/\= Lieutenant Casela, report immediately for briefing in my office. =/\=

Casela was in the middle of a session and he received an automated response. =^=Lt Synthi-er is in session. She will respond later.=^=
“Guess I’ll have more time for my… gift.” He stayed a bit stubborn but yet surprised. At that hour he expected her to be free but apparently his ideas of her plans weren’t exactly the same “Oh well. Computer, leave a message for Casela: meet me at my office when you are free. And end message.”
The computer computed what the Captain said and seconds later a confirmation came through “Message sent.” By then he took the gun, inspected once again the flintlock and admired its finiture “You and I will have some interesting fun!”Half an hour later Casela had dinner she’d. She walked the NLt off the deck. =^=Lt. Synthi-er to Cpt. Manhattan. On my way.=^= With a huff she headed up to the RTF deck. Really Alpha shift was for regular duties. Bravo was for RTF.
She stepped off the turbolift and made her way to Manhattan’s office. She stopped outside the door and rang the chime to snickers from other agents about her being in trouble again.

The man was still there, like a kid, inspecting each inch of the firearm from up to bottom. He replicated also some cartridges and gunpowder stocks so he could then try it someday and put them in the case with extraordinary care. Hearing the chime, Captain put away the gun and wanted to fake some sort of disciplinary meeting. After he had clear his voice, Manhattan made the most serious face he could do and with a little giggle before the doors could open he shouted out loud “Come in, Lieutenant.” Followed by a pause that wanted to make the moment a bit more dramatic for her. He have put a PaDD with false accusation on the other side of the desk, now it was time to see what would have been her reaction.

Casela was aware that she had not broken any rules or done anything too horrible recently. Well other than getting her ribs shattered during a holodeck simulation. So there was a good chance that was why Manhattan wanted to see her. It was also his birthday. Now, she’d left the gift anonymously, but there were only a few people on board who would know the extent of Manhattan’s collection and what to get him to add to that collection. So it was equally possible that she was there because of the gift or simply because he wanted company on his birthday.
hearing the eletronic chime Erve set everything to start his plan. He was sure that Casela was a good investigator so his acting must have been at his peak and without error. After checking again the office, Erve took the biggest knife and the gun that Casela gifted him. Then like those ancient films he turned the seat and called “Come in.” when the Lieutenant came through the path, Erve turned back in front of her, playing with the knife, and holding on his lap the gun.
Manhattan had earned her respect many time over, and so she entered his office and stood with respectful attention, or at least it was for her. Casela would never be fully military. She operated alone for too long and had no need for such things, but out of respect for the man she made an effort. “You wanted to see me?” The PaDD on the near side of the desk, looking for all the world like a formal report, did not miss her gaze. Manhattan also liked to joke around. This could go either way.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS“Sit down, Lieutenant” Erve tried the best to avoid his giggle to be seen by the his best man, I mean woman “You know why you’ve been called here, Lieutenant Synthi-er?” Calling her by her last name must have made her more uneasy, he thought, and create ambiance in that small armored office. The lights were dim, the temperature cold. This should’ve made the trick! maybe.

Ooooookay then. Casela was reasonably sure she hadn’t done anything else, but apparently she was about to get dressed down for her training habits. She mentally shrugged. The fact the holodeck got the best of her just emphasized the point that she was out of practice, and needed to find time to train harder. She took in the low lights and the cool temperature. She could read his thoughts, but she’d never liked doing that unless necessary. “Taking in the lights and temperature, you spent too much time drinking with the Black Devils last night, and need a remedy for a hang over?” It was a typical flippant remark from her. “But no, I’m not aware of why you called me here.” Casela knew Manhattan took his job seriously, he also liked a good joke. So at the moment, she was leaning towards a joke, but if he was dealing with a pounding headache....maybe not.
