Luna and cerenity headed. Silently to the Chief of securitys office. Cerenity refused to speak to anyone since last night’s events. It was about a ten minute walk from her qurters to the CoS’ office. She was quite directed to correct office. She had a bad feeling that she would have to resine from star fleet. Though she was not sure what she would she did not exactly have a home to take Cerenity too.

” Ensign Luna reporting as ordered Ma’am” Luna said. She stared quietly at the wall infront standing at attention. Cerenity stood behind her looking at the ground. The little girl was well aware of how much trouble she had managed to get herself into.

Surda watched the two then sighed. She stood up and walked in front of the two. “Cerenity. When you are reporting to a senior officer, you stand the way your mother is standing until you are told not to.” She then turned to Luna, seeming like a drill sergeant surveying the troops. “You have said you have no intention of sending your daughter away. You have demonstrated you have no intention of teaching her proper behavior on a ship.” She backed up to speak to both of them. “I grew up on a ship, and that ship was even more strict than the Leviathan. Never in my life was I found anywhere I was not supposed to be.” Not that she hadn’t been places she wasn’t supposed to be, but she had never been caught. “Under the rules of my culture, your needs are my responsibility. Both of your needs. Cerenity needs a teacher.” This was one of the responsibilities she had been glad to take on in her youth, and she was beyond willing to claim it again. “I am no schoolteacher, nor am I an appropriate teacher for a random group of children. I am however, willing to help teach Cerenity. Things I do not know I can outsource to different departments.” She could not teach engineering, and her science was limited, but she was well instructed in etiquette and protocols.

” but miss. Surda I’m not part of star fleet so you are not my senior officer. Your also not my mother you can’t do anything to me with out mommy’s permission. We are also on a federation ship, not some random pirate ship.” Cerenity pointed out. She refused to actually look at Surda.

” Cerenity not now my apologies Ma’am, I promise you I did not teach her that and have no clue where she got picked it up “Luna said more then a little embarrassed. Cerenity hid behind her mother suddenly relzing she had made things worse. ” I want to go home” cerenity whimpered.

” With all do respect Ma’am this was the first time cerenity has ever left are quarters in the middle of the night it was extremely unusual and I now have protocols in place to keep it from happening again. As of the first insistint in the labs it has only accured once. I have apologized for it and have looked into a found way to remedy the situation.” Luna said quietly. She was not happy that Surda was implying that she was unable to take care of and meet Cerenitys needs. But she did deserve this lecture it was her fault. Maby she was a bad mom. She was now completely unwilling to let Surda teach Cerenity anything at the moment. She was not going to give e anyone else reason to think she was unfit to be a parent.

“No Cerenity, you aren’t an officer. You are a dependent, but you live on this ship and that means you have a responsibility. Part of that responsibility is following the rules.” She almost laughed at the description of “some random pirate ship,” but managed to keep a straight face. “And although this ship does not follow my culture, I still have a responsibility to each and every person on the Leviathan. Part of my responsibility is making sure no one is terrified by a small winged child who may or may not be an anomaly planning to brutally murder them.” In fact, had she not already know there would be a child with wings she would have thought Cerenity was an anomaly sneaking into the science labs.

Cerenity just glared at her from behind her mother.

Surda sat down and gestured for the other two to follow her lead. “Luna. You have heard the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child?” This is your village. There is no reason that you should have to keep an eye on your daughter all the time. When she left, she could have commed me. If she wants to visit the labs, all she has to do is ask. We are willing to accommodate her, so why not take the opportunity?” In fact, if the girl had been a bit older, she would have offered to invite Cerenity to training sessions.

Luna did not move she had the strang paranoid feeling that this was a trap. She wanted to tell Surdar about the file the ARU had on cerenity bit could not tell her infront of the child. ” I see your point unfortunately that opportunity is dangerous” Luna said.

Cerenity took that moment to speak up ” why are you afraid. Of everything mommy it has to do with why we have wings and others humas dont. I want daddy he always understood me” Cerenity snaped.

Luna blinked at looked at the child. ” Do not talk to me like that for one. its not your job to worry about why I do what I do. I am doing what I feel is best for you. Thired you dad died a year ago he is not coming back” Luna said.

” I hate you” cerenity screamed then sat on the floor her back to both Luna and Surda. Lune brok her stance for a brief moment as if she were going to aproch the child then changed her mind. ” Perhaps Cerenity should not be her for this conversation” Luna said a sad tone in her voice. She could not totally hide it. It hurt to think Cerenity heated her.
