Casela nodded, very seriously. “Yes like a really big girl. And part of being a big girl is to tell me if you don’t understand something I say, okay?” She waited till Cerenity agreed.
Cerenity nodded in agreement.

“Well Cerenity I know that you know ALL about the Viking where you were born. And I also know that you love to know everything you can, right?” Again Casela paused.

” learning and exploring are fun” cerenity said.

“Well Leviathan, is not like Viking. It is a LOT scarier and strange. There are areas here that you absolutely must NOT go to. You, and your mommy, will get in A LOT of trouble if you do. We have areas called containment decks where there are monsters and other scary things. And then the science labs that try to understand those things. You can’t go there. It’s not because you aren’t smart, but you are still young,” she avoided the word little or baby, “and you haven’t learned everything you need to know to go there. It’s important that we have enough knowledge to do the things we want to know. I can not promise you that you will ever be allowed in those areas. Only certain people are. I’m not even allowed in some of them.” She made a big deal of how big a deal it was that even she couldn’t get in. “Now, if you can promise me you won’t go anywhere you aren’t allowed and will always ask mommy’s permission we’ll set up a lab for you here, on this deck, where you can study things that you and mommy decide on. Would you like that?”

” I was not suppose to be all over the viking ether.” A mischievous grin crossing her face. ” I can try not to. What kind of monsters they can’t be worse then the shadows they were evil and the eat people. They could not do anything to me though they never said why” she said.

“We have monsters like that here. They hurt people and they don’t care if you are child or not.” Images of Dave’s escape flash through her mind. She’d have gladly killed him, but Brass said he was more important than the 200+ officers that died tried to recapture him.

“But if you can’t keep your promise I won’t be able to do that for you.”

” i do my best she said is ther a school or other children onboard” cerenity asked. She know adults were always busy and other kids to play with would be fun.
Cerenity

Casela shook her head, “No, see Leviathan is not a family ship. Children aren’t allowed to be on this ship, but an exception was made for you and your mommy. If you can’t keep your promise, then you won’t be allowed to stay. And I don’t want that, because that means you won’t be here, but your mom will be because this is where Star Fleet says she has to be. I don’t want that, your mom doesn’t want that, and I know you don’t. So I need you to do more than try. I need you to DO.”

Cerenity burst into tears and darted behind Luna.” Dont let them take me away” she whimpered. Grabbing lunas wings pulling one of her secondary fathers out witch earned a yelp and glar from Luna. ” im not going to rescue you mis Celeste is right” Luna snaped.

Cerenity cried ” im sorry mommy” holding the feather it was longer then the child for arm. She looked at the fether then at Celeste. ” I will” she whimpered. She was absolutely tarified that she would be truly alone.

“There is one other child on board. She’s much older than you, she’s 16, but she might like spending time with you. She stays down here on this deck a lot. I’m sure you’ll meet her soon. Her name is Genesis. But we can do something about school. You are so smart I bet you are ready to do some real learning aren’t you?” One of her staff had a background in education, Casela was sure she could come up with something.

As if feeling like showing off she said ” this is a secondary faether. There not as important at primary fethers but we still need them to help us fly” cerenity smiled. Then her expression darkened. ” she won’t teas me for being smart will she” cerenity asked.
Cerenity

Casela watched. She didn’t like scaring kids. But it was the truth. If Cerenity created havok, got into areas that wasn’t safe, or anything that put this ship at risk it was a real possibility that Luna would be forced to send her somewhere. The ship was full of misfits but the rules and security measures were no joke. So many of the crew had no love lost for the Brass but they had found their own way and the regulations in place were respected by every single misfit on this ship. That was why the exception had been made. Did Casela think it would work 100% not for a while. Cerenity might be super smart but she was also 3. “I don’t want you to go away. I like you a lot Cerenity, so your mom and I will do our part. We’ll do our jobs, we’ll teach you all about the rules and why we have them. And when our jobs allow we will even take you around the ship to areas you are safe to go into. But YOU have to stay where mom says to stay, okay? And only do science and engineering and experimenting stuff in the lab I’ll set up for you down here, okay? And no Genesis won’t make fun of you. She’s different too, she understands. She’s smart too like you. I think you two will be good friends over time.” She wasn’t sure how Gen would feel about having a young companion, but Gen wouldn’t be in charge of Cerenity. Gen didn’t need that responsibility right now, but they could be friends.

She turned to Luna, “I think that’s all I have for you. I would like for you both to come back soon so we can talk about Cerenity’s lab and make sure she remembers the rules in order to keep it. And maybe you and I talk more about those other things? But I know you have a lot of reporting in to do today.” She looked at the art Cerenity had done. “Would you like to take that with you? Or would you like me to keep it and then put it up in the room that will be your lab?”

” you can keep it” cerenity said picking the art up and handling it to Celeste. ” I can’t wight to meet Genesis, many ill actually have a friend for once” she said. Cerenity started towards the door.

Casela took the art and rolled it gently, she’d study it later to try and get a better feel for Cerenity. “Friends are wonderful. I’m sure you will make many here, even if they aren’t kids.”

Luna stoped just long enough to talk to Celeste. ” thank you, so much you are a wonderful person. I would like chance for us to talk with out cerenity here. Am I fit for duty for now though.” Luna said. Cerenity Wachtel at the door and looked back at her mom as of saying are you coming.
Ensign luna

Casela nodded, “Yes you are. I’ll have it all in the system within the half hour.” Casela followed them out and waved by to Cerenity and then returned to her office. She entered her review and cleared Luna for duty. She had a feeling Leviathan was going to be a hard adjustment for both Luna and Cerenity.
