Posted by… suppressed (2) by the Post Ghost! 👻OOC: Appearing as requested, we have one (1) slightly amoral Orion Starfleet officer with a penchant for sassing everyone.
That morning Casela entered her office, and pulled up her list of appointments that day. Surda: 0945 Casela broke into a huge grin. The new CoS had made quite the impression on Casela. She understood the Orion uniform was more than a costume, but reflected her pride. Casela had already decided she liked her. Respect was yet to be seen, she was new on board, but she liked the woman’s gumption. She immediately booked a holodeck. She preprogrammed the scenario. =^=Synthi-er to Cobb. Just wanted to let you know, I’ll be the holodeck sparing all morning.=^= Her voice held too much amusement and had a lilting quality that would probably scare Cobb to death.
Surda pressed the chime on the Counselor’s office somewhat reluctantly. She hadn’t gone to a ship’s counselor since her interrogation at the beginning of her Starfleet career, but rules were rules. At least she seemed… Interesting. Surda grinned at the memory of the holodeck.
-Surda, CoSCasela stepped out of her office. “Hello Lt. Come on let’s go.” And she led the way off the counseling deck and back towards deck 24 and the training holodeck. When they entered the scene was not anything that anyone on the ship would expect. It was a bar, a full out, edge of civilization, smokey, dirty, falling apart and held together by the dirt, bar. Casela walked to a table by a window that barely let in filter light through the dirt that was mostly on the inside and not from the dirty street outside. She waved to a chair. “Have a seat Lt. and order a drink.” Casela ordered a strong cider, non alcoholic, she was on duty after all.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS“Dare I say we’re skipping your office?” She looked around the holodeck with a raised eyebrow. “Looks like home.” She sniffed the air lightly. “Some mandisa and blood and it would smell like home too.” She grinned at Casela, ordering the same. “So counselor, what fun do you have for us today?”
-Surda, CoSCasela waited for their drinks and then sat back, relaxed. Truly relaxed. She’d obviously spent a lot of time in a place like this. “Just a meet and greet. I know you’ve been recently promoted, congratulations, and you have the job of running security, which on this boat is a daunting task. AND your RTF. Many of the DH are both, myself included. I’ve been trying since we left dry dock to get RTF and Star Fleet to get along. It’s a slow process.” Casela rolls her eyes. “The previous CoS was going to do some dual training with me. I’m in charge of tactical/combat training for RTF. We were going to alternate weeks between Security and RTF, but it never happened.”
“Aaaannnndd I saw your uniform the other night. I’m impressed.”
Lt Synthi-er, CNSSurda smiled, a bit flattered. Anyone accustomed to Orions might detect a faintly orange blush. “Many dislike that I keep it, but I take great pride in it. I made the designs myself, by hand.” She leaned forward and rubbed her hands together in an overblown display of excitement. “Andon the topic of Starfleet/RTF cohesion… I managed to get permission to do some… fun teamwork exercises to foster friendship between the two groups. I’d be honored if you would join me.” She grinned. “And if you’re interested, I love to spar.” Surda wasn’t even exaggerating that. Fighting, for real or practice, was relaxing to her. She may be far removed from her own people, but she still held much of what she had learned as a child close to her heart.
-Surda, CoS“If it bring you pride, warmth, happy memories, or whatever it is, keep it. Don’t let anyone else tell you differently.” Casela hid a smile. By the four gods didn’t she know how important those things were. “Now, rumor has it that you did black ops? Is that true?” Another female special forces, Casela was almost over the moon. She’d been dealing with Remington and McHarrie this whole time. And all the other over bearing males with a far too personal sense of humor. Time to turn the tables. And Quinn wasn’t too far from having those skills either. Sparing! Maybe Hampton had managed to kill her and she was actually in Heaven instead of suffering eternal torture. She kept her face calm though. In a few minutes the whole bar was going to erupt in a giant free for all, and it was going to be fun.
“I would love to join. In fact I’ll make sure the RTF response teams are there. I can’t say for the rest of the RTF, but talk to Manhattan. He’s actually trying really hard to stop this nonsense, but I think at times he might be overwhelmed by the administrative paperwork.”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNSSurda laughed. “You hear some very interesting rumors.” She raised an eyebrow, suddenly seeming like a particularly green Vulcan. The she broke out into a grin, and the effect disappeared. “Yes, it’s true.” She rubbed her hands together, a bit sheepishly. “It’s about all I’ve ever done honestly.” She thought back for a moment, remembering all the spying, the acting as bait. and stealing. It hadn’t changed much after entering Starfleet, except, she supposed, for the stealing. “I’ll have to set up a meeting. I hope he’ll take the opportunity to get away from the paperwork.”
-Surda, CoS“Manhattan loves weapons. A man after my own heart. But offer to show him something unique or old and no force filed will stop him from leaving that tiny closet of an office he has.” She glances around the room, it was still quiet except for the murmur of voices here and there from the holographic patrons. “You will find yourself in very good company here, or maybe not depending on your point of view. This ship is full of specialist, intelligence, covert ops, and section 31. We have a large group of misfit officers, disillusioned with the Federation, their own lives, the enemy (whoever they choose that to be), but damn good at their jobs. We have a captain, well take a look at Cobbs service record sometime. He’s a man to be admired, but he chases his demons with alcohol every night. All this to say, emotions run high, reactions are reflexive, and fights happen when we bump each other by accident. You and I will have our work cut out for us.” Surda’s being to break up the fights and wade into that. Not that Casela wouldn’t, but her job as CNS was to try and find it and stop it before it happened. And on a ship that big and personalities as they were, she’d have to be a god to see and catch it all before hand.
Casela nodded, “It’s all I’ve ever done as well.” She grins, “Section 31, now attached to the Leviathan as the ship’s counselor.” Casela raises a single brow, much as Surda had just done, looking for all the world like a Vulcan. Probably because she’d picked the personality quirk up from her half Vulcan/half Human mentor. There was a sound of a chair scraping back across the floor. Like many others, but this one was slightly harsher and faster than the others. A knife came flying from across the room at their table. Casela simply swayed to the side, ready to yell “freeze” to the computer if Surda didn’t move.
And then…a bar fight would break out.
OOC: Please please please feel free to write out a fight scene. I promise I’ll join in with my own. :P
Lt. Synthi-er, CNSSurda’s ears caught the familiar sound of a knife in the air and grinned. “The fun begins.” she said under her breath. She leaned backwards, grabbing a small, ornate knife from behind her back in each hand. The knife went directly through where her head had been, and she laughed. “Risky, risky, Counselor! What if I had been drinking?” Her chiding was false of course, but fun nonetheless. She straightened back up, spinning around and throwing both knives as she did so. One landed in the fabric above the shoulder, effectively pinning him against the wall, and the other landed just above his head. She turned back towards Casela almost lazily, and smiled. “Did I meet your expectations?
OOC: Take it away!
-Surda, CoSCasela grinned, “Well you’d either move your drink or lose it!” And then she was gone, ducking to the floor and rolling away. She reappeared at the opposite side of the bar from the man pinned to the wall. The throw was impressive and when this was done they were playing darts with throwing knives. Casela reached behind her back and pulled out two fans. These, of course were non-lethal ones. Ryder had her real ones locked up in a safe in his quarters. The fans snapped open without a noticeable flick of her wrist creating a sound of loud reverberation around the bar and grabbing the attention of those around her. One big very drunk Klingon stood up and lumbered toward her, grinning stupidly. “That is not a warrior’s weapon. That is a little girls toy!” Casela shrugged and snapped them shut, turning the fans in her hand to use the butt end for pressure point manipulation.
Across the bar the pinned man grunted angrily. While he was busy trying to either rip his shirt off the knife or yank the knife out of the wall, a very calm and collected Andorian woman stood up and looked at Surda. “He’s such a bad aim.” She approached Surda, circling around her table maneuvering closer.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNSSurda spared a glance for the man against the wall. He wouldn’t be able to get the knife out. “Well, we can hardly blame him,” she commented conversationally. “I hope you’ll a bit more challenging.” She didn’t draw her own weapon, waiting to see what the Andorian woman chose. She stepped back a bit, putting herself against the wall. Not usually a good tactical choice, but she wasn’t known for good choices. Surda grinned at Casela. “I get the Andorian assassin and you get the drunk man? I see how it is!” She laughed, enjoying this already. She recentered her attention on the Andorian. “Come and get me.”
-Surda, CoS“What? I gave you the easy target. Andorian assassins are natoriously bad at hand to hand. Drunk Klingons don’t know how to go down and stay down.” She says this as she gets picked up in a bear hug by the drunk and then visciously jabs him in the soft spot of his neck on either side with the blunt ends of her fans. He drops, chocking, but takes her with him. And of course he’s drunk, now on his back, holding a female. The goofey grin earns him a swift jab at his eyes, Casela willing dropping a fan to do so. He cries out and lets go to cover his eyes. She rolls away, laughing. He’s down for the moment. In her roll she picks up the darts dropped by an over turned table. It finds a mark right beside the head of the bartender who’s reaching for a very old phaser rifle. “Not today.” Most of the bar has errupted into a huge brawl now, with bottles, tables, and chairs going every which way while the patrons roll around in a confused mess about it all.
The Andorian woman sneers. “We are NOT bad at hand to hand.” She hurdles the table between them coming down in a low crouch in front of Surda. “Oh that’s easy enough. I’d rather take you myself, but if you prove difficult I’ll just find your Orion master. I don’t think you’d cost too much.” And the woman moves suddenly with an upper cut aimed at Surda’s midsection.
OOC: Please don’t take offense. Insults are all part of fighting dirty. I don’t mean anything by it. The Andorian woman though....that’s different. :)
Lt. Synthi-er, CNSOOC: Trust me, she’s having just as much fun with the insults.
Surda laughed. “Darling, please. You can’t afford me.” She ducked under the woman’s arm, and slammed her head into the wall. She grinned, looking over to Casela for a moment. “Like I said! Just like home!” She grabbed the Andorian’s arm, flipping it backwards until it was nearly dislocated. “I do see what you mean about them being bad at hand-to hand.” She grabbed the other arm twisting it similarly. “Did you know Orions are stronger than nearly every other humanoid race? Andorians included.” Surda held both of her hands in one hand, then pressed down on the back of her neck with the other. She let go, and the woman dropped to the ground, unconscious. “5 seconds knocks them out, 15 kills them.” She was speaking to the unconcious body on the floor, as well as to herself.
Surda strode over to the man on the wall, reclaiming the knife above his head. Some of her hair had come out of her braid, and she frowned as she pulled it back out of her face. She apparently needed a better hairstyle. She walked merrily over to Casela. “What’s the matter? Large, drunk, Klingon men not your type?”
-Surda, CoSThe drunk Klingon got up off the floor laughing happily at the turn of events. “TWO OF YOU!” Casela chuckled. “Not really. I don’t like sharing.” The Klingon reached out both arms trying to get each of them in one arm. Casela dropped took out his knee and he landed on his knees swaying drunkingly. Casela raised a brow at Surda. “He’s all yours.” She turned and with a very quick uppercut to the jaw took out a cardassian woman coming up with a knife. She dropped in a daze. Casela reached over and as if she was going to give the woman a one armed hug, she pinched her neck and she dropped. “My mentor taught me the Vulcan nerve pinch. Useful in so many situations.”
She looked around at the fallen bodies. “Aww, I’m going to have to add more people. This didn’t take five minutes!” She sounds utterly disappointed. Casela looked around, “Computer! Level 2!” She reached down and picked up the fan she’d discarded. The barkeep tried taking a shot, aimed bad, and it took out a window shattering it. There was lots of noise and screaming and shouts outside. Then the doors opened. The local ‘police’ showed up. Lots of numbers, but not anything formal. What you would find in most border towns. People who like power. “Oh look, the ladies like trouble.” One of them laughed sauntering over.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNSSurda smirked. “Sharing can be fun.” She shrugged and knocked the Klingon into the bar. She was ready to hit him again, but he didn’t get back up. She sighed. “Seven minutes.” Surda stepped up behind Casela, scuffing her foot on the ground to announce her presence.

Casela grinned. It had been a long time since she did any partner sparing. Actually scratch that, never, not since T’Jal and F’actar had shown her how it was done. Casela eyed the 6 bad boys who had just walked through the door. “You want tall dark and brooding or the blonde pretty boy?”
It was very much a pack mentality. Casela walked right up to the speak, brash as ever, and laid one hand on his chest. “Oh sweetie, you can’t handle my kind of trouble.” And then excecuted a beautiful hip throw that tossed him right over onto the floor next to the Klingon. The next one in line was a short, but built Tellarite. “Awww, too bad, your not even big enough to bother with.”
