USS Leviathan
A Gift for the Mad Scientist
Taking a page out of Ryder’s book, to a point anyway, Casela had started making note of significant dates in the crew profiles. Today was Kastil’s birthday. And though Casela wasn’t sure she’d ever trust her with herself again, Fey was a brilliant doctor and cared about her patients. But apparently her dark humor delighted in scaring Casela. But the good doctor was away from her sister and deserved to celebrate. Cobb had told her her sister was coming on board, but approval hadn’t been granted yet. Casela had checked, that would have been a wonderful birthday gift. Instead, Casela had picked something else.
She entered sickbay long before Kastil’s shift started under the guise of dropping off some reports for her. She placed a small box on her desk with a note. I thought these would look good with your zoot suite. Happy Birthday, Doc. Inside she would find a pair of cufflinks shaped like scientific beakers.
