Shuttle Bay - Valkyrja

(snip)A long shift later found the essentially striped. Most of the hull platting had been sent to recycling, and her train layer bare.
Standing behind what appears to be a lectern, Bog watched the screens of the PADD’s he had cobbled to to gether with a tricorder to make himself a workstation. It was hard to rosier the urge to redesign the shuttle’s space frame, but servicor bias told him that despite the damage she was more than strong enough. The little ship had made it back to the Levi more or less intact.
Many of the major repairs would be de done using the engineering version of transporter surgery. Essentially the shuttle would be transported for a fraction of a second returning the space frame to it’s factory fresh condition. The fatigue cracks and stress buckling erased like a magic trick.
Having finished uploading the specifications and double checking the targeting scan, the Tellatite engineer initiated the insitue replication process. The frame of the Sutton began to softly phosphores and hum. Exited dust motes began to dance.
In a mater of a minuet and a half the frame was rebuilt atom buy atom. With this step compleat Tellek initiated the program to lay down the redesigned power grid, first the primary, then the secondary and finally the backup.
After ten minuets of work the transport ceased, the work done. Anticlimactic after the hours of design and programming required.
The Engineer approached the shuttle and began the inspection process. Scanning the new work for flaws was the last step before he called it a night.

Casela walked into the shuttle bay. She’d promised to come back, and had been on her way when there had been an incident on the counseling deck. She thanked the four gods of Betazed that it hadn’t actually involved her this time. Though she looked like she’d gone rounds with someone. A crewman had gone a little berserk and had started throwing things and then punches. She and her staff now had him sedated in a patient room for the night.
She walked over to the shuttle and Bog and looked over the frame as he inspected it. “I should have just bought a new shuttle, then?” She asked. But the frame looked, almost, brand new. The minor cracks and major bends were gone.
Lt. Synthi-er“If we were charging you full price, yes but then I wouldn’t have the opportunity to refit her to accommodate your personality.” Bog absently said as he studied his readings. Turning to his friend, “I appreciate the distraction.”
Bog
“Then I’m happy I was able to provide one.” She took a good long look at Bog and shook her head, “You look like you lost a fight with a Klingon targ. Call it a night Bog. Valkyrja isn’t going anywhere.” Casela was sure she didn’t look much better after the scuffle on her deck. The sessions in sickbay with the dermal regenerator for the plasma burns Hampton gave her, were physically exhausting as well. She’d learned later that Bog had transported her out immediately and then attempted to knock Hampton out with sound. Claiming Hampton was clearly dangerous because he’d attacked the counselor. Bog was only slightly wrong. Technically there wasn’t much Hampton could have done, he had to neutralize Sandman, but she was sure he had enjoyed taking her out with him. She was grateful for Bog’s quick thinking. She clapped him on the shoulder. “Call it a night Tellek.”
Lt. Synthi-erring
Having taken the counselors advice, Bog found himself back in the cargo bay some what later than expected. He had spent most of the morning helping clear up a problem third watch had discovered. It took him most of the day to finish writing the specifications for the new warp nacelles. He had seriously considered raising them higher on the space frame to better protect them from ground fire , but in the end he decided the re-engineering required might well compromise the proven survivability of the frame.
The original engineers had designed the little ship with multiple hard points to allow then to be redials adapted to special missions, he extended to use all but two in the refit.
As the day turned to the night watch the little Tellarite initiated the sequence that would replicate the new nacelles. The engineer watched the new framework that would house the warp coils materialize. No joy, no excitement just a look of focus. Agin he would inspect the new components, in particular the transporter welds that made them one.
One buy one the major components of the warp drive began to appear. First the coils, then the conduits and most of the other auxiliary components. With each new component he stoped and scanned the work. Not that he didn’t trust the work, but replication errors did happen, and on the verge of paranoia there was the possibility of sabotage.
Tomorrow he would install the new warp cores and mini fusion reactors, building the power distribution system in from the new nacelles. Step buy step.
