Casela raised a brow, “By now I would think you’ve heard the gossip about me Mr. Bog. This shuttle should be prepared for anything and everything. I’m a hot head, remember. There’s no telling what I might get involved with or who I might make mad. Not everyone is as understanding as you.”
Lt. Synthi-er

“ I am rather easy to get along with, aren’t I” still poking around looking at the damage” Time frame?”

She was reparable, but if the space frame was as stressed as the rest of the ship an over haul might be in order.

Bog

“How ever long you need. The sooner the better. I’m not planning on going anywhere any time soon.” Unless she decided to jump out an airlock. But she wouldn’t need the shuttle for that. “But whatever upgrades you give her, are confidential. I don’t want the whole ship knowing about it. But on that note if you need help, get it. Just make sure you trust them.” She stops here thinking about the last time she took her out. “Would there be a way to put holoemitters on the outside, to use the projections like camouflage?”
Lt Synthi-er

“That’s an old Romulan trick we use for precontact survey teems. Should be easy enough. Won’t fool modern sensors unless maned buy an idiot, but their are other ways to spoof them.”

“But can it be used in space? Like if I want to hide her in a nebula. Can I use the holoemiters to make it look like I’m not there? Visually anyway?”

Taking a more critical look at the exterior, seeing both ground fire and near misses from heavier ordinance. “Did you use her for a batting ram?” Noting the impact damage. It was a testament to her designers she even made it this far.

Casela shrugged, “Not on purpose, took out some boulders and some trees when I got hit before I got her righted.”

“Defensive and offensive upgrades?” Bog asked? He had some ideas but it would reduce her cargo capacity.

Bog

“Both if her system can take it. I know she’s older, so there is only so much she can take unless we put in a whole new system into the frame.” Casela wasn’t opposed to that, but she doubted she had enough credits for all of that. She had a ton of credits, there was nothing she used them on, but she wasn’t rolling in it either.
Lt. Synthi-er

“I will see what I can do, there is potential here the Type 8 is really just an upgraded Type 6. So it’s a proven design.” Cost never entered the Tellurites mind, aboard a federation dreadnought as long as the reactors we on line and the replicators functioning most components could be replicated from the original molecular material even the entire space frame was not impossible. Subsystems for the most part were just the cost of raw materials and anything else was either available threw their Farringi contacts of the Einstein salvage.

“I imagine you don’t what her to look like a gunboat, but how much leway do ain’t have with the original appearance?”

Bog

A wicked smile crossed her face. “No I don’t want a gunboat. I don’t want to look intimidating. Well…usually I don’t. But the less like a Federation vessel she looks, the better if your imagination can stretch that far.” She laughed at her own joke. It had been a long few weeks. “But honestly, Mr. Bog you have free reign. I need room inside for 5 people and personal gear, but all gear has to be carried, so not a lot of room is needed for cargo. Usually.”
Lt. Synthi-er

“I will see what my limited imagination can come up with, but then you have to find some one who can fly it…”

Bog’s mind was already listing the tools and equipment he needed to replicate to make the cargo bay into a small dry dock Cation field, work station…

Bog

Casela walked back into the shuttle intending to hand the controls over, but there was no need, there was no power to the old shuttle. Not enough to worry about anyway. “I leave her in your capable hands, Bog. Unfortunately I have appointments. But I shall return to help, not that it will do much good. And whenever she’s done, we’ll take her out for a test flight.” Casela left, heading back to the counseling deck for the time being.

Lt. Synthi-er, knows when she’s not needed

A long shift later found the essentially striped. Most of the hull platting had been sent to recycling, and her train layer bare.

Standing behind what appears to be a lectern, Bog watched the screens of the PADD’s he had cobbled to to gether with a tricorder to make himself a workstation. It was hard to rosier the urge to redesign the shuttle’s space frame, but servicor bias told him that despite the damage she was more than strong enough. The little ship had made it back to the Levi more or less intact.

Many of the major repairs would be de done using the engineering version of transporter surgery. Essentially the shuttle would be transported for a fraction of a second returning the space frame to it’s factory fresh condition. The fatigue cracks and stress buckling erased like a magic trick.

Having finished uploading the specifications and double checking the targeting scan, the Tellatite engineer initiated the insitue replication process. The frame of the Sutton began to softly phosphores and hum. Exited dust motes began to dance.

In a mater of a minuet and a half the frame was rebuilt atom buy atom. With this step compleat Tellek initiated the program to lay down the redesigned power grid, first the primary, then the secondary and finally the backup.

After ten minuets of work the transport ceased, the work done. Anticlimactic after the hours of design and programming required.

The Engineer approached the shuttle and began the inspection process. Scanning the new work for flaws was the last step before he called it a night.

Bog

Casela walked into the shuttle bay. She’d promised to come back, and had been on her way when there had been an incident on the counseling deck. She thanked the four gods of Betazed that it hadn’t actually involved her this time. Though she looked like she’d gone rounds with someone. A crewman had gone a little berserk and had started throwing things and then punches. She and her staff now had him sedated in a patient room for the night.

She walked over to the shuttle and Bog and looked over the frame as he inspected it. “I should have just bought a new shuttle, then?” She asked. But the frame looked, almost, brand new. The minor cracks and major bends were gone.
Lt. Synthi-er

“If we were charging you full price, yes but then I wouldn’t have the opportunity to refit her to accommodate your personality.” Bog absently said as he studied his readings. Turning to his friend, “I appreciate the distraction.”
