After entering the Einstein, Fenrir moved through the corridors. His audio sensors picking up the sound of deep breaths and dark laughter. They seemed to be pumped through the ship’s audio system, and other times his sensors registered it as coming from a specific location down a side corridor. Fenrir was ordered to find the away team and so he did not investigate. He made his way to the bridge and once the turbolift doors opened he found the away team collapsed in a heap in front of the door. Using his bioscanners he was able to determine that the away team was alive but deeply in REM sleep. He tried, unsuccessfully to rouse them.

Fenrir moved past the away team and found the body of the CO Cpt. Endust in his chair, dead. According to the last captain’s log he was the last crew member alive. He had been instructed to retrieve a body of autopsy. Placing, with some awkwardness with his mechanical paw like hands, the pattern enhancers. On the Kraken, Casela would receive a call on the direct comm to Fenrir =^=I have found Cpt. Endust and he is ready to be transported for Autopsy.=^=

The transporter on the shuttle had been adjusted to work as a signal enhancer as well. Casela would transport the body and hold it in the buffers on the shuttle and send it to the Leviathan. Casela turned to the controls. =^=Kraken to transporter room 1 on Leviathan. I need you to sync with our transporter. We have a body ready for Doc Fey.=^= A few moments later the body of Cpt. Endust appeared in autopsy within the containment field that Fey had set up. =^=Synthi-er to Kastil. You have the body of Cpt. Endust waiting for you. As well we have the bio signs for 9 of the away team. I am sending you those for comparison as well. Let me know if you need anything. Synthi-er out.=^=

The Doctor got to work on the scans first, the team had passed out and she wanted to know why. Sure the inoculation wasn’t meant to keep them awake, but their cerebral activity didn’t make sense. =^= Kastil to Synthi-er. I need a detailed cerebral activity scan from one of the away team members, preferably one of the ones with the inoculation in their system. The surface scan is showing too much activity and with the inoculation, there shouldn’t be any. =^= The Doctor began a level 5 autopsy scan of the former captain and let the computer do its work. She wasn’t going to even get on the same deck as the body until she knows what knocked out the away team.

=^= I’ll do what I can doctor, it might be awhile. Fenrir doesn’t have the equipment necessary to conduct such a scan. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Synthi-er Out.=^=.

The computer beeped later indicating that the autopsy scan was complete. The scan revealed the body was malnutritioned and severely dehydrated. The initial scan of the brain indicated showed extreme stress indicative of a muscle that is pulled and then put to extreme use afterwards.

The Doctor read over the information and frowned which on her face looked horrifying. “I need that brain scan of a living brain to know what is going on. It can probably be stopped as long as I know how to treat it.” She turned to her team with a sigh. “I’m afraid we’re still waiting. Nurse, please have the body scanned for any microbes or harmful radiations. I want to be sure he gets a proper send off, but not until completely cleared as safe to be around.”

The nurse nodded and went off to perform her scans. The body came back for any known microbes, but had an unusual amount of radiation. There was nothing to show a source on or near the body and it was dissipating quickly and became harmless.

Doctor Fey would start preparing the death report for the body, scans for time and cause of death, notifications for family members, discharge paperwork, and sending word for a coffin to be prepared for after the situation. Death is always a sad thing, but because of the training and experience the doctor has had, she moves through everything mechanically. She’ll have time to mourn for the loss to Starfleet later.

The results from the away team have finally come in: On the bridge Doc House would be surprised to find Mr. Hampton stirring and no longer asleep, but coming to. Scans of each crew member were taken and recorded and sent directly to the shuttle to be forwarded to the doctor.
Their brains showed strain in the frontal cortex, much where human psychics show increased brain activity. A chemical very similar to psilosynine (in Betazoids) showing up as a large neurotransmitter in their brains. The scans of Mr. Hampton show that the levels are much lower. The reason unknown, but perhaps why he woke up.

A few painful minutes later =^= Stand buy to revive casualties=^= as the biobeds begins to fill with unconscious members of the away teams.

The Doctor got to action right away, making sure to have space for everyone and directing the nurses and doctors to their patients. Doctor Fey began mixing the chemical to help wake them slowly so as not to apply unnecessary stress to their systems.

Much to everyone’s dismay and chagrin, the good counselor was the first to appear in sickbay, passed out and looking like someone had tried to set her on fire. The rest of away team one appeared very soon after. They were all deeply asleep, and their bodies showing signs of the same physical stress, malnutrition and dehydration, of the Cpt. Endust, and extreme mental fatigue. Their brains would show a telepathic neurotransmitter in their brains, even those that were NOT telepathic, and it was causing alarming amounts of stress. The counselor, showed signs of her paracortex, the Betazoid part of the brain responsible for telepathy, was shutting down and the psilosynine in her brain was almost non-existent.

“Get everyone on Bio Neural regulators and psychic suppressants until their neural activity returns to normal.” The Doctor moves Lieutenant Synthi-er to a biobed with a surgical suite to start the repair process of burned skin while a nurse applies the psychic suppressant and the cortical stimulator to regulate the neural activity. “Computer, make a note that I must ask the Counselor what burned her while she was on the ship.” The computer beeps in confirmation.
