Hampton grinned at the sandman, “Well, if you are going to make a habit of cutting down the number of suspects for me, you’re hardly motivating me to play along.” He stood up. His voice a low growl. “I have spent my life in pain far greater than you could ever inflict. Loneliness, depression and the feeling of complete futility are much more poignant than a quick neck snapping. I may be dead in an hour, but I will not spend it jumping through your hoops you pathetic creature.” His eyes narrowed. “If this is my time, I’d rather be killed standing on my feet than living on my knees.”

Hampton looked at Potter’s corpse. A new feeling entered him, accompanying the frustration and anger, satisfaction. Staring down at the body, Hampton realized something he dare not admit to anyone around him. He was glad the ensign was dead. He looked back the Sandman. “You are going to have to try your routine on some of the other puppets around here, this one doesn’t mind seeing other’s have their strings cut.” While his face remained narrowed and serious, a dark gleam had taken residence in his eyes.

Lt. William Hampton- CE

Goatman advanced upon Hampton reaching out clawed fingers to grasp at his throat and pull him closer. An unholy rasping breath coming from him. Then suddenly he screams in a rage and disappears.

Sandman

With a strong sharp pain to his head, Hampton’s vision blacked out and then he found himself on a hard cold floor, a huge amount of weight on top of him. Between the legs and arms of his fellow away team members he could see the bridge, and hear the subtle hum of his shield. He was burried under the rest of the away team. Once he pulled himself from under the dog pile he would notice he was still on the bridge of the Einstein. Some of the screens were working properly and others were glitching horribly. The klaxons were flashing red and yellow and alarms were going off. In the distance the screaming of a very angry child could be heard having a tantrum.

On the Einstein’s bridge came a rhythmic taping sound, a sound some how familiar, fallowed buy a sound much like a baby’s rattle.
Ape ring in front of the lift doors was a tall slender man in an archaic black suit with a white shirt. He stood with a cane pinched between his arm and body as he brought an amber vial to his bearded face and tiled it back, in fact he tiled back his whole head and swallowed. With a grimace his hazel eyes surveyed the scene. ‘ Sleeping on the Job I see.” Then with the familiar tapping noise he walked the the cabinet contains the emergency medical supplies to retrieve a medical tricorder. And began to scan the nearest member of the boarding party.

“ So your just playing possum. What are your symptoms Leuitenant.” Demanded the EMH as began to scan Hampton as well.

EMH House

Rage, pure, unadulterated rage, was all Hampton felt. He had been manipulated, put into a game for someone’s entertainment, and played with. His fellow away team members had done him no good, and he had failed to stop whatever had put him to sleep.

He looked at the EMH, “Computer deactivate emergency medical hologram.” The EMH would surely revive the rest of the crew, Hampton couldn’t have that.

His left fist clenched, his right hand went to his holster, where his phaser was still placed. His eyes narrowed and a massive scowl was on his face. The sound of a child crying simple fed his rage, he set his phaser to kill. He looked down at the rest of the away team, no time to revive them, they would surely stop him. He turned and headed toward the sound of the screams.

Somebody was going to die.

OOC: (fixing the split)

After exiting the hatch, magboots engaged Casela turned, and using the outside access panel she closed the door and locked it. She moved to the hatch, opened it and dropped into Einstein. Psilosynine, a telepathic neurotransmitter for the brain. Doc Fey would have her hands full fixing that in a group of non-telepaths. Korvough should be fine, maybe. Vulcan’s brains didn’t use psilosynine. But for some reason Hampton was waking up. She had theories but no time now. If Hampton woke up, he’d be pissed and kill Sandman. Casela intended to make sure he got the opportunity.

She moved towards the science labs looking for Fenrir. She found him still scanning the pieces of the prison. “Come on Fenrir.” She put the pieces into his cargo deparment. She moved silently with him to the nearest transporter. Fenrir’s head cocked to one side. “Casela is not returning to the shuttle?” She shook her head. “No Fenrir.” She ran her hands over the console and he was gone, and reappeared on Kraken. Casela turned and listened.

“Some one is having a very big tantrum.” She moved out into the corridor following the sound, at the same time being sure to listen for Hampton, should he be awake. He’d shoot her.
Lt. Synthi-er, RTF (always has to be the martyr)

As the doors closed behind Hampton the EMH came back on line, casting a glare at the lift. “ That was rude” with a shrug he returns to his patients ‘You would think he was me.”

EMH House

The crying was coming from a few decks down, Hampton could tell, he had left the bride via a Jefrries tube and had begun to do a deck by deck sweep of the child. He moved quickly and angrily, like a predator stalking his prey. With each cry his anger intensified. His thoughts turned to his time on Leviathan, they way he was treated, talked down to, belittled, taken for granted, ignored, ostracized by people who he had hoped to be friends with. The anger from those memories and thoughts simply added to the melting pot of rage that was blazing from his eyes.

The screams were the loudest on deck 4, and he went kicked the door to the Jeffries tube down, he could tell by the clarity that he was on the right floor. Without really thinking about it, he turned the phaser up to full power, a shot at that power would disintegrate whatever was crying. He rounded a corner and stopped abruptly. There before him was a child, crying. His instinct told him to fire immediately, but he wanted to relish the moment. He held up the weapon, aiming it at the child. “Tick Tock, your life is on the clock.” He hummed, and then let out an evil cackle that was not dissimilar to that of the sandman’s. He waited for the child to react, he wanted this putrid being to know who was killing him, and he wanted the kid to feel the fear of death before Hampton delivered it.

Lt. William Hampton- CE

From his position, sitting cross-legged on the floor, the child looked up and locked red, fury-filled eyes onto Hampton.
“You didn’t play,” he admonished the engineering chief. “You’re a spoilsport. Do you know what I do to spoilsports?”

There was a flash and the child disappeared. Then from behind him, Hampton suddenly heard a voice in his ear. “The last person who didn’t play my game had his eyes turned into dice and his skin turned into a deck of cards. Now what could I make from you, Mr Hampton?”

Hampton eyes narrowed, he should have just shot, ‘oh well’ he thought to himself. He turned around. His eyes still burning. “I have a few suggestions for what I can make from you.” He said with a smirk, rage still powering his every action, “Like I told you earlier, there is no pain you can inflict on me which I have not already felt. I am a man with no friends, no future, and nothing to lose.” He smiled at the being. “Something tells me that if I shoot you nothing is going to happen.”

Lt. William Hampton-CE

Casela was making a deck by deck sweep as well, coming from below. She heard the screaming as she made her way onto deck four from the port aft jefferies tube. And suddenly it stopped. ‘Aw crap.’ she thought. She had her Mark VII but she didn’t intend to use it. Maybe as flash grenade as a distraction. She moved silently towards were she heard the screaming from in time to hear Hampton taunt Sandman. A child? No that thing was NOT a child. She would NOT make that mistake. She crouched low, waiting. To control that many minds, Sandman was a powerful psychic, and she’d have one chance to distract him and let Hampton do whatever it was he was going to do. The child was slightly solid....she cast around and moved back down the corridor the way she came searching the rooms. She found what she was looking for and moved back to wait.
Lt. Synthi-er, RTF

“You have no friends?” the child mocked. “Maybe that’s because you’re such a SPOILSPORT!” he roared into Hampton’s ear at a volume that could perforate an ear drum. “Nobody likes a spoilsport, Mr Hampton. So, I’m going to teach you how to play. If you can strike me, then you earn a point. If I can strike you, then I earn one. The first person to ten is the winner. You like that game?”

As if to prove his point, the child’s icy hand pummelled into the engineering chief’s side.
