Next on his tour was the security deck, some might this is were he belongs but so far they let him have the run of the place. The had drank a lot of coffee together, but never before had he came calling on Isaac in his Office. The door chime rang clear under his thumb.

After a brief pause the door slid open; revealing the Chief’s office. Forgrave rose from behind his desk, a broad grin on his face. “Stores! Ta what do I owe the pleasure? Wouldn’t ‘a guessed you’d find yer way to the brig on yer own accord; though I do have a fresh pot of coffee on…”
Shaking Store’s hand, Issac sat back down and gestured to the chairs in front of his desk, inviting him to take a seat as well. “Coffee’s on the corner; feel free to help yourself.”
Issac Forgrave, CoS
“ neither would I, for sure.” Stores was genuinely happy to see his friend and his smile was a sure indicator. “ I am making my rounds to see if we forgot anything in the mad rush to load out.” Policing up a cup of coffee and taking a seat. “I know we can replicate most anything in transit, but it’s nice to have things on hand in a crises, and honestly, some things we would rather not have a log of.” The look of mischief suggested that really wouldn’t be a problem.

“Seems like I did hear mention of you gettin’ poached outta Engineering; over ta Ops. Surprised it took as long as it did, to be honest. Now, as far as supplies go, let me think....” Issac briefly sorted though the stack of PaDDs on his desk, before selecting one and leaning back in his chair with it.
“Just a moment, if ya please…” A look of concentration on his face, he flicked at the screen and muttered under his breath as he skimmed the contents.
“Lets see… we had a couple ‘a moments when we thought we might be short on inventory, and according to Braxton we had a pallet go ‘missing,’ but looks like that got sorted out. Hmmm, overall I reckon y’all managed to get everything we were looking for; a damned impressive feat considering y’all beat the schedule too!”Issac leaned forwards again, sticking the PaDD back in its stack on the desk. “Now, as far as having things ‘off the books’… I can come up with a few situations; illicit and otherwise, where that may be desired. Out of curiosity, you have anything in mind that might fall into that category? Hypothetically, of course.” Issac gave Stores a conspiratorial grin; though the question was delivered with an earnest tone.

Stores laughed, “ Isaac, I may be crazy but I am not stupid enough to give you, even my good friend a reason to keep me here in the brig.” Shaking his head, “ But in this case I am referring to perfectly legal materials that just aren’t ‘authorized’ normally. I can replicate most anything in reason but if we had a critical power loss or a central core failure it gets iffy, so it’s best to have spares in hand. Now if it’s of a personal nature and the Captain won’t skin me, then come to me off the clock.”

Issac joined Store’s laughter; “Ha! You have to admit, it was worth a shot!”
“But I was indeed seeking yer suggestions; you’ve been on ships when it’s gone all to hell before - and I’d appreciate yer thoughts on the matter. I can think of some stuff; vac-suits wit air cans in every department; and scattered about the ship. Emergency rations done up in the same way. Spare power cells in Engineering and Life Support. Wouldn’t say ‘no’ to some phasers stashed away an’ hidden as well, but that’s somethin’ I’m less keen on all ‘a the crew knowing of. Hell, for that matter, maybe some Latinum stashed in the same way. Anything that could give our ship an’ crew a chance at survival when the chips are down.”

“It was as much luck as planning, we habitually wore are EVA Compression suits.” Stores indicated the brown body glove. “ The Tortuga has started life as a GV 100 and was one of the first upgraded to the GV 500 standard and beyond. Being an old scow, sharp corners and system failures were common hazards. So adding the EVA frame was pretty easy.” Scratching the stumble on his cheek, ‘’We did keep life-support belts for the kids, so building ‘survival kits’ around them wouldn’t be to hard, and dumping life-support dose gum up a boarding party that isn’t prepared.”
Emergency rations and spare power cells were part of the standard kit, wile way to few EVA suits were always an issue to his mind with federation ships. Stashing Phazers wouldn’t be an issue, he had already stashed a few himself....
