as Ensign Tonav makes his way to the Dresden he smiles

wow He said as he first stepped on board I should probably make my way to the counselor’s office

as he steps into the office he still cant belive the over all sight of the ship

Renveer looked up as the door to his office opened, and found himself smiling as he observed the starry-eyed ensign who walked through it. “Ensign Tonav,” he said as he rose from his seat behind his executive officer’s desk and offered the customary vulcan salute as a way of greeting. “Welcome aboard. And thank you for seeing me, I know having an evaluation in the executive officer’s office might be a little unsettling, but I’m acting counselor as of now so it’ll have to do.” He chuckled lightly at that.

The trill man sat back down and motioned for Tonav to feel welcome to take a seat in one of the chairs across from him. “We’re glad to have you with us, Ensign. Is this your first time on a starship?”

Ensign Tonav smiled and as he sat down in the chair across from the commanding officer he replied ” yes yes it is yet having grown up umong vulcan diplomats its not my first time seeing a Starfleet vessel”

Renveer raised an eyebrow slightly at the smile, an acknowledgement that it was an expression that was perhaps odd for a vulcan. But he nodded in understanding. “Being aboard a starship isn’t the same as serving on one… Once you know a ship is your home and that you are an important member of its crew and responsible for its mission, it does gain a renewed sense of splendor to it, if you ask me.” Renveer folded his hands in his lap, his face warm but not overly emotional. “It sounds like you’ve encountered many people from different civilizations already, given your time around diplomats. Is that part of why you joined Starfleet? Or I suppose, my question in general is: what reasons did you have for joining Starfleet?” It wasn’t meant to be challenging, the executive officer seemed genuinely interested.

Tonav sighed it was a past he didn’t like to talk about much but he knew it would make the commander smile “well I joined Starfleet under the advisement of ambassador Spock of whom I was one of his apprentices during my youth”

“you know commander when I first left Vulcan iv to go to the academy I didn’t want to share my past because of a secret i have kept for the ambassador”

OOC: Hi Alex! I love the thought you’ve put into your character’s backstory. That’s the mark of a great character that you will be able to expand upon through your roleplay with other people in STF! Unfortunately, using canon characters like those that appear in the Star Trek movies or TV shows is against our Terms of Service (TOS). You can read that here: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/legal/ and the relevant part is under the STF Content iii) section. STF isn’t affiliated with the actual people who own Star Trek, and therefore we don’t have any right to use those characters in our writing. So in general, no one in STF can use those characters.

However, in my opinion this is a GOOD thing, because it allows us to be more creative and construct new people in our backstories! So Tonav can still 1000% be a apprentice of an important vulcan ambassador or diplomat. In fact, you get to create that ambassador! Their name, what they look like, and now even how they act and their personality. Lots of people have characters who are the sons or daughters of Starfleet captains, for example. They’re just completely original captains they made up that are not shown in the movies or TV shows. I bet Tonav’s backstory will be even better if you get to be creative and decide for yourself what this secret ambassador mentor is like… why don’t you give it a shot? You can rewrite what you have above the same way you’ve done with my OOC comments, if you want!
