Priscilla had arrived the day before, was all checked in and had seen to the morning briefing. There wasn’t much currently happening in the Science Department, so she had decided once everything was settled and everyone was about their business, she would see to her little project.
The young woman had been studying fatigue and space anomalies on ship metals since she could remember. Even as a child, she wondered why space stations didn’t blow apart from the inside from the atmospheric pressure. And she was curious how come some ships made it fine under warp speeds and others didn’t. So when she saw there were bays capable of holding fighters, she had to go see. Fighters weren’t meant for the rigors and speeds of warp. So how had they fared on this ship and out in space compared to other fighters, shuttles and roundabouts she had scanned? That’s what she wanted to know.
She had a tricorder in hand, and was walking amongst the various craft in the hanger, scanning those craft that were available. A smile of peace was on her face as she hummed and walked around. Here and there she held out the device to get a scan of a craft. Metal fatigue, space debris, anything the recorder would pick up. She wasn’t touching them… but was extremely close.

((Ok, do for the first time, I did more than screw up my signature lol I was so busy showing off the site at work I actually posted to the wrong ship entirely. BUT no worries. I’ve altered the post and we’ll play it out. Anyone’s welcome to respond lol))OOC: There is NOTHING wrong with showing off my beloved Dresden to coworkers. Having your nose stuck up the Tempies tailpipes… that’s /different/.
IC: Colonels Harris and Hudson were walking along the new arrivals, laughing like old friends. That was before Hudson spotted the unfamiliar face and cut Harris off mid-sentence.
Strolling over to the Science Officer, the 5’9” redhead in Marine khakis cleared her throat firmly as Harris followed. “Excuse me… just what the hell do you think you’re doing?” She said with a raised eyebrow.

Priscilla looked up and smiled. “Forgive me, just taking some passive readings. Nothing classified, I assure you,” she held out the tricorder in offering of proof. “I’m Priscilla Simms, the new CSO. I’m studying the fatigue of space on both warp and non warp capable small craft so help better understand what wears them down and how to improve them for everyone.”
She looked at them in turn and waited for the response she already guessed was coming.

CSOThe female Marine huffed through her nose softly and shook her head. “Listen Sweetie… I’m not gonna barge into Raven here’s territory…” She hooked a thumb over her shoulder at the imposing Marine behind her. “… but we are in the middle of moving some rather heavy equipment around, so…” She smiled… something wicked in the smile, but a real smile none the less. “… unless you wanna spend months regrowing crushed bone, I’d recommend keeping the science experiments to a minimum until the Dres is underway again. Alright Honey?”
Hudson, Director OASP
Sweety and Honey made Priscilla smile. It had been a while since she had been ‘sweet talked’ and it was almost comical that it would happen here in this company. Inclining her head with respect to those present, she nodded. “I assure you I have no intention of being squished or in the way. I will depart till I have a chance to speak to you on your requirements for my continuing presence. I was cleared on the hanger floors of my previous ships, as well as the one I arrived on. I say this not to brag or argue, merely to let you know I am not completely unaware of the dangers.” She glanced to those present. “May I ask who I should seek out for further permission when ops are finished?”

Harris smiled warmly. It was nice to see someone from the Upper Decks interested in the work the Marines and specifically Aerospace Command personnel did from day to day. Even more so about keeping them safe. The Marine opened his mouth to answer the Science Chief’s question when....
“That would be me.” came a low rumble of a voice from behind all of them. A single figure came into view, PaDD in hand and gold uniform with Lieutenant pips on the collar. He was a truly large Orion, large even for that species, and the uniform did nothing to hide the rippling muscles swimming beneath it.
He looked at the Marines. “Sir. Ma’am.” he said respectfully. “Lieutenant Hammor, Chief of Operations. And while I can appreciate the Corp’s desire to do things a certain way, the bay and the equipment get moved as directed by loading priority. So, with all due respect, in reality all of you need to clear the bay, please, and let the crew do its work. Thank you.”
Hammor, Ops
Cal took a slow breath as his eyes swam back to the redhead standing next to him, expecting to see the firebrand already glowing in frustration and to his humor… found exactly what he was expecting. The 5‘9” Marine with the perfect, award covered uniform, glared at the new arrival… the tops of her ears already glowing a dangerous red and her emerald green eyes sparking in challenge. Cal had already started to raise his hand to cut her off while Devri’s mouth was already opening to snap back when she was interrupted.
Priscilla turned to see the Orion who had taken her manifest list that morning. “Lieutenant,” she smiled, “a pleasure to see you once more. Forgive me. I had figured this small area, at least this early, would be a bit more quiet and accessable. But it seems I am in the way.” She had been hoping to get more readings, but there would be less chaos once the loading was done. Or at least, she hoped so.

“Goddamnit…” Hudson grumbled under her breath before stepping forward and looked up at the Ops Chief defiantly. “… Lieutenant…” The woman’s native San Franciscan accent clear to anyone who ever spent a day on leave from the Academy in the neighboring city as she began to speak. “… I am Colonel Devri Hudson, Director of the Office of Aerospace Personnel at Starfleet Command and if you will look at the PaDD you have there… you will find my signature on every page. The requisition of every fighter, bomber, and assault craft has to have my signature on it before any bird moves. Furthermore…”
“Ah hell…” Harris mumbled softly. The ‘furthermore’ told Cal everything about what was about to come out of the young woman’s mouth. The woman’s eyes snapped to Harris sharply and, with a slight smirk, Harris held his hands up palms toward Hudson in an expression of innocence before Hudson rolled her eyes and turned back to Hammor.
”… furthermore, I have as much right as anyone in Starfleet to be on this Flight Deck, Lieutenant. Colonel Harris here…” she thumbed once more to Cal. “… is the Commander of the Marine Detachment more importantly, he was MY instructor at TOPGUN. Next to the Skipper, the XO, & I… Colonel Harris has more right to be on this Flight Deck than anyone on this Starbase. Now, Lieutenant…” There was something poetic in how the Marine made the rank of Lieutenant sound insignificant. “… I am going to finish the Transfer inspection of the craft I assigned to the Dresden with Colonel Harris. You are welcome to join us, Mr. Hammor… is it?… but I’m not leaving this frackin’ Flight Deck before I personally confirm the arrival of every craft… or… I can leave and take the whole damn group with me and you can explain to Captain Holloway what happened to her entire embarked Aerospace group.” Crossing her arms over her chest, Hudson stared up with a look that was clearly a dare for Hammor to question her.
