The doors slid open to the Science Lab and a large uniform topped with a proportionally sized and hairless green head came through. As he looked around he took in the various experiments and displays. He looked towards a passing Scientist and said “Hey. I dont want to intrude, but I need a few minutes if the Science Chief’s time. Could you go get them, please?” he asked politely.

The young man looked shocked a moment, but he recovered swiftly and smiled brightly. “Lieutenant Simms is in her office, Sir. I’ll be happy to show you.” He turned and held a hand towards the office across the room. A young woman was sitting behind her desk, one hand dancing over the console and two PaDDs before her while her other hand was fiddling with a small cluster of errant strands of hair about the width of a stylus, winding it in and out between her fingers unthinking.

He stepped ahead of the man, glancing back once, “Would you like me to introduce you, Sir? I’m sorry I don’t know who you are.”
