There’s no place like home The doctor thought to herself as she stepped over the threshold and into Sickbay, Enj safely tucked in her arms, asleep. Although it had been a couple of months since she had last stepped inside it felt like nothing had change. As if the place was it’s own small, bubble, stilled in time while everything around it moved forward. The familiarity was refreshing. It had been a long journey back from Earth and she had only just arrived in the early hours of the morning, but she wanted to go to Sickbay first. Time waited for no one and she was sure her work had been stacking up while she was gone. She wanted to get a head start while she could.

She moved quietly through Sickbay, careful not to wake any of the patents sleeping in the biobeds. There was one medical NE working at the back of the Sickbay, they had their head down, focused on a task they were working on, but in the low light she couldn’t quite make them out. She kept her tread light, unwilling to disturb them, either. The only real sound giving her passage through Sickbay was the opening and shutting of the doors as she passed through them and her soft footfalls.

As soon as she entered her office she placed Enj down in his dog bed. The little dog let out a small sigh at being disturbed and snuggled down into the blankets. Elaine smiled sofly, relaxing down into her own chair and repeating the thought there’s no place like home. The pile of documents on her desk was just as high as she’d anticipated. She sucked in a breath and let it out long and slow putting all memories of her leave aside. Work waited for no one.

OOC: Welcome back and great post! I don’t know if Jo told you but Levi is my old character and I’ve brought him back but I’m not sure for how long. To explain his absence I’ve locked him away in labs down in the secondary sickbay.

Huge fan of the Wizard Of Oz, (OZ is even my gm name.) So really appreciated your reference!

OOC: Thank you! I think if I remember Levi correctly I really enjoyed all his interactions with Elaines dog. They never failed to make me smile. At any rate you are a good writer and I’m looking forward you have in store for the ship. :)
