Hey everyone!

First of all I would like to thank you all for the kind words of support and congratulations. When I returned to the club three years ago I had decided that I wasn’t going to pursue a CO position again, but over time that ended up changing and after so many years on the Dresden I cannot express how happy and grateful I am for having been given the opportunity to take the center chair on this amazing ship and her incredible crew. The Dresden has had her fair share of ups and downs in the past, and I am sure it will have her fair share of ups and downs in the future. After all, so is the nature of roleplaying. However, all we can do is to try to give her our best in order to make her the best ship she can be, and that’s exactly what I intend on doing.

So, with all of this there are a few updates that I just wanted to make you aware of:

– If you’re wondering what happened to our esteemed Colonel Calvin Harris, former CO of the Dresden, he (and Jerome) will still remain among us. Me and Jerome had thought about putting together a Marine Unit on board the Dresden and given Jerome’s expertise in that area and Calvin being a Marine, it seems only fitting that he remains on board as the Dresden’s Marine Commander.
– After her stint as XO, Amelia will be returning to Earth to be with her husband. Since the beginning I have always felt that she was not meant to be a Command character, although I really enjoyed writing her as an Executive Officer. This doesn’t mean, however, that she will vanish from the Dresden immediately. I will keep her unrostered for the time being so that I can finish the threads I hold with her right now, as well as giving some IC continuity to the story. This means Molly will be the actual CO of the Dresden.
– And last but not least, probably the biggest announcement I have, we now have a new GM! Harley has so kindly offered to step in as our Gamemaster, and given that he is one of the club’s finest GMs it was an offer I couldn’t refuse. He is still planning the sim, so it may take a little while for him to get started, but that will also give us enough time to wrap up the Dresden’s time on Earth and all the in-between sidesims/changes that might want to be played IC.

Thanks for the update Joana! All of that sounds great! I’m excited to see Molly back in the captain’s chair, it sounds like that’ll be an exciting character development opportunity for her! I’m also super excited to hear that we have a GM and that Jerome will be sticking around! Looks like blue skies ahead for the Dresden!

Joana I’m so happy for you and I’m so excited to be working with you as a CO/GM team again. Thank you for giving me this chance.

I’m maybe about two weeks from having a workable sim and I can’t wait to share what I have in store. I’ve already written the prologue and Joana has read it. I think you guys are really going to enjoy it. It’s a continuation of two earlier sims I’ve run, which will be fun for those who were involved. But don’t worry if you haven’t simmed with me. There is so much new stuff that it could be a stand-alone sim and I hope the rest of you will enjoy it just as much.

Joana, thanks for the list(!) of updates; they’re coming in fast enough to make it hard to keep track - it would seem at this rate, we’ll have a full roster within days… But I suppose there’s much worse situations :P.
Harley, can’t say I know you as OZ, but if your writing so far as Buddy is an indication, I suspect you will find new and delightful ways to make our lives on the Dresden very interesting… and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to it!
