To the Crew of the USS Dresden,
It is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation as Commanding Officer of the USS Dresden, a position I have been proud to serve in since I first took command of the Dresden on October 13th, 2016. My longest tenure in command of an STF ship has had its fair share of challenges but sadly, my real life took a turn this week that forced me to make several difficult steps. One of those being stepping down from the Centre Chair to allow a new Captain the chance to fall in love with this old warship like I have.

I will still be around and plan to walk through the transition IC but from today forward, I will be the Outgoing CO. I thank and everyone of you for your hard work and support over the years, wishing you all the best under the new leadership. And to my beloved Dresden, thank you for being a great ship and getting Harris’ ass out of more than a few scrapes. You’re one hell’of’a ship and deserve a great Skipper.

I’m really sorry to hear it. Unfortunately, sometimes life forces you do make decisions you didn’t want to do. But no matter what, it must come first.

I hate to see Cal off the center chair, and I am sure he doesn’t like the prospect either. But I really hope it is not the last we see of him around the Dresden’s corridors. I can think of at least two members of the crew that will make sure he doesn’t leave, even if he just roams around with a bottle of Bourbon in his hand!
