First, allow me the opportunity to thank Jerome for his years of dedicated service to this ship. He has held the Center Chair for a long time, and it is sad that we have to see him go.

Your XO, Joana will be the Acting Commanding Officer until a new CO is appointed. Please contact her with any questions or concerns you may have that are directly ship related. You all are, of course, welcome to contact me for assistance or discussion at any time as well.

My plan is to have a new CO in place as soon as possible, but I will not be rushing that decision just to try and fill the very large shoes left by Jerome’s decision to step back. I will do everything in my power to ensure you have the best possible choice of CO from all applicants.
