Domingo was feeling gratified as Katie relaxed into his embrace. He hadn’t messed up when things mattered most right then, He enjoyed the feeling of her nestling into his neck and the warmth of her breath playing along it. He started to smile at her half joke before he found his smile and lips melting into hers. Every nerve in his body seemed to be attuned to the sensation rippling through him, it was sweet and electric.

Domingo broke away from the kiss and separated away from Katie, in the hopes that she hadn’t felt his body reacting. “Now I’m incredibly sorry. I… hadn’t been that close and intimate with a woman in a long time.” he said with a blush on his face.

Despite herself, Katie giggled slightly and used the arms that were still around Chavez to pull him back to her, planting a firm kiss on his lips again. She bristled slightly at the word intimate, but it wasn’t her turn for drama at the moment, especially after what she had just put the young man through with her freak out. “I guessed,” she finally said, her tone light, but careful not to ridicule his concern. She shifted to return her head to his neck and shoulder where she had sought comfort before and just breathed.

Letting out a long breath, Domingo settled back into the embrace. He was simultaneously grateful and stifled at being pulled back in. He was still riding the waves of those emotions, with both his adrenaline and hormones surging. His heart was thumping away at a steady pace seemingly carrying with it a fervent desire with each beat. Too worked up to let the tension flow from his body, he made circular rubbing motions on Katie’s back, just trying to help her with a massage.

Katie held the embrace for several more moments, enjoying Chavez’s touch as well as the soft whisper of the ocean waves behind them. Finally, she pulled back from him so that she could meet his eyes. “Well, this took an awkward turn,” she commented with a laugh, hoping that he wouldn’t be offended by her observation of the situation. “Should we resume our walk or are you ready to turn in for the night? This has been a lot for you.” The counselor’s defenses were slowly shifting back into place after her initial reaction to Chavez’s kiss and she could feel herself steadying as a result.

Domingo’s eyes were smoldering with a burning desire, his skin was warm to the touch, and his adrenaline was still surging. Lifting his hands to cup the sides and back of Katie’s head he leaned forward and initiated another kiss, with more passion and less timidness. He was letting his actions speak for him, he was rejecting both options very clearly.
