Domingo followed her lead towards the ocean lightly kicking the sand along the way.
“Well some methods of relaxation are better than others.” Domingo smiled wryly, “I’d choose a stroll on a beach every time, but access and time both make the difference in what you can choose.”
They had both been walking for a few minutes before he gathered some courage and stopped his steps. When she stopped and turned in his direction he pulled her closer to him and into his embrace. He looked into her eyes before closing his eyes, leaning in and closing the distance, their lips converging.

Katie again flushed, although this time it was in sheer embarrassment. The combination of the two tequila shots and the soothing walk on the beach had made her complete forget Chavez’s history and now she had gone and stuck her foot in it. She looked down at the sand pensively before giving him an apologetic smile, not sure what words could convey her chagrin at her mistake.
Before she could contemplate it too long, she found herself in his arms. She snuggled in further, enjoying his warmth on the cool beach, her eyes closing as she relaxed into his embrace. As she felt his lips brush hers, memories coursed through her and she threw herself backward out of his arms, stumbling back and nearly falling on the sand beneath her. Her face had turned slightly ashen and finally she opened her eyes. “Oh, sh…” her voice trailed off as she connected that she was, in fact, on a beach with Chavez. “I am so sorry,” she stammered.

Domingo eyes opened wide in shock. His complexion impressively went through shades of red and white like a disco tech. His arms fell powerlessly to his sides as the thoughts of rejection spun circles in his head. He was a bit tipsy from the drinks before and his own adrenaline, but he hadn’t thought he had misread the mood that drastically.
“I… no, I… um, I’m sorry.” he muttered quietly before turning around and listlessly heading toward the holodeck exit.
