Domingo smiled at the point being made, “You did very well for your first time. Meditation as a routine becomes easier to slip into calm the more you use it. There can always be those off days though where it won’t help, but in that case beating the sand out of a bag usually does.”

Lifting himself off the ground, Domingo reached for his shoes and slipped them back on, “Now Counselor, I do believe there was a drink next on our agenda.”

Katie watched admiringly as Chavez levered himself up and then caught herself with a slight flush. “If we’re going to start drinking, you should call me Katie,” she offered with a small smile as she unfolded her legs and rocked up onto her feet. Sinking down onto the couch behind her, she fished the heeled black boots out from under the coffee table and pulled them onto her feet. She straightened her teal-trimmed uniform slightly as she stood and then gestured toward the door. “Shall we head to the lounge then?” she asked, running her fingers through her hair as she tucked some pieces that had come loose back behind her ears.

Domingo caught himself intently watching Katie as she tucked her hair behind her ears. He shook his head lightly before grinning and gesturing her ahead, “Please lead the way.”
