“A little stifling I must admit. I imagine myself as a man of action after concise deliberation and it’s hard when I remember that I don’t decide now, I have to suggest.” Domingo responds while taking another sip of tea before putting the cup back on the table.

Folding his hands together on top of his leg, he looks at the Counselor, his dark brown eyes mirroring a troubled soul.

“If you don’t mind my asking, what made you decide to go aboard a ship? Not the safest approach to being a counselor. There’s plenty of people to help on Earth or any other planet.”

Katie’s head fell to the side slightly as she listened to Chavez’s answer and then pondered his question. It unsettled her slightly and she reflexively reached up to tuck an escaped piece of hair back behind her ear, using the motion to strengthen herself. “Yes, there are plenty of people to help on Earth,” she affirmed with a slight nod, before adding, slightly evasively, “there are people to help on starships too.”

Domingo’s gaze was intently watching the Counselor, which allowed him to pick up on her body language and obvious lack of an answer. His face went pensive for a moment while he hesitated on whether he push for an answer, his old instincts reasserting themselves for a moment before getting pushed back down. He closed his eyes and took in a steadying breath while counting out ten prime numbers in his head.

Lightly letting out his breath, Domingo opened his eyes and refocused again on the Counselor with a small smile, “Fair enough Counselor. Did you have any other questions you needed to ask?”
