“I never meant to suggest otherwise, Commander.” Molly said. A dry hint in her tone. “I trust your judgement when it comes to psychology matters.” Holloway tried to block the thoughts intruding in her head telling her that she would had been better off as she was, mentally cursing Calvin for making the appointment. “When do you suggest we start, and how long will it take?”

Katie gave Holloway a friendly smile, hoping to indicate that she wasn’t at all insulted. If she was going to get her rankles up every time a patient was the least bit resistant, she would have flunked out of counseling before making it out of her training program. “I’d suggest that we start as soon as possible, Captain, but after you’ve gotten a couple of good nights of sleep” she responded, keeping a slight twinge of firmness in her voice, feeling that it might assist in ensuring a somewhat reluctant participant’s participation. “Unfortunately, I can’t tell you precisely how long it will take, but progress will be made and we will evaluate and re-evaluate every step of the way. Perhaps, if you have some time now, you could go see if Ensign Bailey is available?”

Molly’s stomach knotted at Nunn’s description. “I…” For a moment she seemed hesitant, before her expression changed to a more resolute one. “I don’t have the best track record when it comes to counselors. I know that…” She sighed. “… if I leave now without booking a followup I will probably not come back.” It was a reality that was hard for her to admit, but the truth was, even with the promise of help, Molly knew herself well enough to know that she could make herself change her own mind in seconds. Especially when it came to sharing anything personal. “Do you think we could officially book a day for us to start? That way I’ll feel forced to come without you having to drag me out my quarters…”

With a small smile at the prospect of leaving, Molly continued. “I’ll go see Ensign Bailey. Should you come with me as well, or… can I just waltz into sickbay and demand medication?” The last of her words were supposed to be uttered in a more playful fashion, but in classic Holloway’s style, the delivery was completely flat.

Katie smiled reassuringly at Holloway. “I really admire that you know yourself that well and feel comfortable sharing that information with me,” she commented. “Let’s plan on meeting at 0800 in two days. Will that work with your schedule? And as far as Dr. Bailey is concerned, let me make that easier for you.” Without waiting for a response and keeping steady eye contact with Holloway, Katie reached for her comm badge and tapped it lightly.
