Studying the tricorder, Katie reported the readings regarding Domingo’s head injury to the CMO and then winced as she watched her prod at the laceration. Chavez’s flinch caught her eye and she gently reached for his hand and squeezed it softly as the CMO continued her work. Well, she might not have any medical training, but she could always be moral support.

Domingo felt the soft touch of the Counselor’s hand squeeze his and lightly squeezed in return. Injuries were not an unfamiliar condition he had experienced, but it was nice to have a bit of comfort. Comfort is hard to find a lot of times.

“I won’t give you any more painkillers,” Elaine said gently withdrawing her hands from the Security Officers wound and cleaning them on a nearby bowl of water and towel that a nurse had left on their way past, most likely for such a purpose. “The weakness and vertigo are most likely from a combination of blood loss and your head wound. Head wounds tend to bleed a bit.” she chatted quietly as she grabbed a dermal regenerator and started working on the delicate art of repairing the damage to Domingos skull.

On his spot on the floor Enj moved restlessly, sneaking cheeky glances to see if Elaine was paying any attention to. As her full focus diverted to her patient, he covertly stood up and trotted over to lay down by the Counsellors feet, laying his head in his paws, one eye cracked open to watch what was going on above his head.

Domingo kept still as the Doctor tended to his wound, the tingle of the dermal regenerator all too familiar and still oh so annoying. His eyes traveled to the small animal at the Doctor’s feet, watching it’s impatience and sneaky behavior. A slight grin creased his lips as he allowed the humor of the moment to occupy his mind.
