Harris had rested peacefully, thanks in part to a… energetic… visit from his other half the evening before. Cal and Molly had been together over two years and he had yet to stop feeling like a teenager around her. They had long since established a 2-3-2 schedule of sharing nights in the Captain’s Quarters that would still be respectful of their non-marital status. But their nights apart were always tough… so every once in a while, like the previous night, they gave into the more physical side of their relationship and enjoyed time together before Molly returned to her quarters. After a shower, the Dresden’s Commanding Officer grabbed a cup of coffee and was halfway through getting dressed for the day… pants and boots on… and was reaching for his shirt as the first explosion rocked his ship, sending the Marine ass-over-tea kettle over the back of his couch and into momentary zero G. Just before he hit the deck, Harris had felt the slight lurch in his stomach that told the veteran fighter pilot before even looking that the Dresden had fallen… harshly… out of Warp. Just as he reached his feet, the ship shook violently once, twice, three… no FOUR more times. The ship, his ship, was hurt and hurt bad… leaving the officer only seconds to process what had happened to him before decades of training slammed the man into action.
Harris was throwing on his shirt as he ran across the room, practically sliding across his desk and quickly opening his terminal. As he tugged down his tunic, the Marine activated the Emergency Communications System sending… hopefully… an SOS to the nearest Federation Assets in the area before slipping into his .45’s shoulder harnesses and racing to his door. He then pulled the door open manually, in order to reach the nearest Turbolift for the Bridge.

An odd glow appeared momentarily as he pulled on the doors to open them, the two rifles barely registering as they raised to meet his emerging face, the large figures holding them barely visible

Harris’ body flinched slightly, years of combat training flashed through his mind and within a blink of an eye… the Marine knew now was not the time to do anything stupid. He was out gunned, out numbered and… for the moment, out of options.
Bringing his elbows back against his sides in a hope to conceal his shoulder rig, Harris opened both palms to the intruders and pulled his hands back roughly even with his shoulders as he stepped backwards into his quarters. Though his posture was… submissive… the man’s booming voice was far from it.
“This is a Starfleet vessel on a duly authorized patrol of this Sector and by forcefully boarding her, you are committing an act of war. Who are you and what the hell do you want with /my/ ship!?”

The booming voice of the Colonel caught Hannibal’s attention as he silently crept through the halls looking for the intruders. He kept radio silence as he moved, using his intelligence and spy training to it’s fullest extent. As he approached the captain’s quarters he hugged the wall tightly. Seeing the intruders near the door to the captain’s quarters he watched from the shadows as to what they were doing. He had a phaser in his had, but kept it to his side. He didn’t want to make any aggressive actions, he needed intel first.
The rifles followed him into his quarters, his assailants not noting anything unusual at his side. Even had his assailants been inclined to answer, they wouldn’t have had time as the telltale golden yellow burst of a Starfleet phaser tore into the fourth member of their party, sending him flying past the doorway. One of the two inside his quarters turned to face outwards at the one closest to Harris reached out for him, his guard dropping as he groped at his side to slap at a device there.

The break in his captors’ attention was just the moment the Marine was waiting for. With a snap side step, the .45 tucked under his left arm was whisked from its holster and the few seconds that followed were in stark contrast to the moments of silence before. The Old Earth slug thrower roared to life as four rapid fired hollow points slammed into the one with the rifle still in his direction before Harris shifted his fire to the second, then third remaining member of the party before him. It was a violent, unapologetic response to the intruders of his ship. The concussion of the near four seconds of continuous fire echoed throughout the room and boomed into the corridor beyond. Fourteen rounds from the Glock 21 sliced through the air before the firing paused for just over a second before three more rounds cracked off a hair’s width after a spent magazine clattered to the floor. The last three shots aimed to the center of the attacker’s face mask

Bright pink blood covered the CO as it burst from the chest cavity of his assailant at such close range. A gaping hole in his chest and the shattered remnants of his helmet lay near a rapidly expanding puddle of that same bright pink blood. Oddly, the second man, taken entirely by surprise in the back as he flew forward from the kinetic force of so many rounds at such close range, did not release the same bright pink blood, but a rusty dark brown/red. Looking down at what was left of his assailants head, Harris would find the telltale forehead ridges and thick, black hair of a Klingon staring back at him from lifeless eyes.
