USS Dresden
A Beginning: The Chaotica Mirror
It didn’t take much to displease her, and this scum was no exception. As his blood hit the deck, his severed limbs following shortly after, she smiled, dark and seditious as she licked her lips and a small giggle escaped her before she could control herself.
Her minion cleared his throat, ever so quietly as he near whispered “we are ready, lady”
Her smile widening, eyes gleaming, she clapped her hands together quietly as she turned towards the viewscreen - the only light in the room. The massive construct beyond filled the viewscreen, energy crackling across its outer surface as the lady sat gracefully upon her ornate throne. A throaty rasp of anticipation as she licked her lips and whispered hoarsely, seductively “begin”
A quiet shift aboard the Dresden, her last mission wrapped up, albeit without quite the success they had become accustomed to. The rather bored officer now relegated to environmental control jerked as he woke himself from near slumber for the hundredth time in the last five hours. Yes, he had used his engineering access codes to bypass the replicator limits and produce a dabo wheel, but he really didn’t feel it warranted an extra three weeks environmental duty. Even scrubbing plasma conduits and purging impulse manifolds manually would have at least kept him awake enough. All he had here… He never got to finish the thought as an explosion tore through the outer hull, wiping him from existence in an instant…
Dresden rocked violently, throwing crew and equipment alike from their beds, stations and chairs. Emergency forcefields slammed into place to cover the hull breaches on decks 32 and 33. Shuttle bay 3 was opened to space, the environmental control operations center behind it obliterated in an instant. Life support faded in and out across the ship as the main EPS network that ran between shuttlebays exploded, sending a massive surge of energy through the impulse engines. Safety systems immediately locked down the magnertic constrictors on the warp core, freezing any forward motion as Dresden dropped violently out of warp, listing badly to one side. One, two, four more explosions rocked the outer hull as emergency overrides snapped into place and the computer tried to raise shields against what it thought was an attack. Hull breaches on decks 12, 19, 20, 22 and 23 opened the front of the dresden like a ripe melon as the glittering fragments of debris and the lifeless bodies of Starfleet officers leaked like blood from a wound…
Red Alert sirens rang throughout the ship as it continued to rock, artificial gravity failing across half the ship. They had lost two forward torpedo launchers, one phaser array, main environmental control, a transporter room and calls were coming in across the ship for emergency medical attention…
Amidst all the chaos, no one noticed the slim, black shape that blended into the surrounding space as it closed within the shield radius of the Dresden, nor did the failed internal sensors register multiple transports onto Dresden. Minutes past before anyone came across a group of large humanoids clothed in black and wearing magnetic boots and tinted EVA suits. The damage control team that literally ran into them lasted less than a minute as they attempted to get away. A partially garbled transmission managed to make it to the bridge =^= BRIDGE......TRUDERS.....ARRRGGGHH....=^= the scream of another life senselessly cut short as abruptly as the transmission.
Listing. Drifting lifeless in space. Opened like a summer hog. Systems damaged. Widespread fires. Secondary explosions across the belly of the ship. Chaos in sickbay as casualties and emergency calls flood through. Boarded. Violated. Frozen smoke, plasma and bodies poured like glitter from the gaping wounds in Dresdens belly as chaos reigned…
